I did mention dice. now go ahead. where is the line ? did you get mad at richards and dice ? was you offended? he is a comic so shouldnt you just take it ? it was a joke?

how about the tsunami joke that gilbert guy told about japan? good taste? too far ? what? do you have research on good taste and what the facts are?

bill maher. yeah but there is a line and with her he crossed it. who are you to define the line for her ?

Ah, you're using Michael Richards? He's more of an actor not known for his comical stand-up as opposed to being part of one of the most overrated comedy programs in the past few decades, so that point is a bit moot. Plus he did it out of frustration as opposed to being part of the joke. So, he was pissed and was serious about it. That's the difference there, buddy.

Should I take it seriously still? Not at all. I actually looked at what he did and didn't take it seriously at all because...after all...he's not a racist. Just a pissed off has-been that can't get out of Jerry Seinfeld's shadow.

Gilbert Gottfried, on the other hand, it was done in poor taste...and yet I think people took it too seriously. There are jokes which are part of dark comedy, but still there are lines that are meant to be crossed when the opportunity knocks.

MR was on stage and he was telling jokes....thus he is a comic. He took heat for it and where is he now?

Yes, he was on stage, telling jokes. Hecklers pissed him off, he got off script and started attacking. I didn't say he wasn't a comic. I said he's an actor that's known for being an actor on a sitcom as opposed to being a comedian. That's what I'm implying. He's not Chris Rock or Robin Williams.

You need to calm down and get your facts straight. At the time Maher made that joke, nobody knew that Logan had been raped. The story was just that she had been detained by the government of Egypt. What that broad did there was totally disingenuous. He wasn't joking about anybody being raped.

doesnt matter if it is more or less or he is as good as chris...he is a comic. so what if he was being heckled. does it make it worse or better compared to bill ?

Bill Maher did as a joke, regardless of whether you called it poor taste. Richards did it because he was angry. That's what you're overlooking.

I'm explaining everything to you. You're either not wanting to understand or get it or my posts are going right over your head.

And I don't know anything about the Dice situation.

Show me some of his videos. From the looks of it, he was a poor comedian that tried too hard to be funny.

Is that what happened? The reports I saw didn't make it seem like a brutal rape. Maybe Maher was speaking with little information.

That said, he is obviously a chauvinist, but I can see why Hasselback draws all the ire she does. She just set herself up for more jokes. She should have either spoke to Bill in private or bluntly told him she had a bone to pick with him. Her awkward segue and drawn out explanation of the Lara Logan situation ending with the emphasis being on her was not the right move. Whoppi's silence spoke volumes.

I don't particularly like Bill either.

    What makes that obvious?

The reports I saw said she was raped. But yes, I agree on Bill, not only that but he is a crybaby - he can dish it out but, oh - he cant take it back at all. God forbid somebody makes fun of him.
Hasslebeck is just annoying as shiet and I do agree on your sentiment about her also.

Its not that he can't take it. Him and Ann Coulter go back and forth all the time with no hard feelings. They're actually friends. I think its the way she ambushed him with since he was on the show to promote a book not to mention I personally despise fake conviction. He said that shit about her over 6 months ago. If it were truly that damaging and enraging to her why not set up something way before that. Anyone who has been a staunch supporter of Sarah Palin loses all credibility to me.

His being coupled up with Superhead for a year and a day.

It's one thing to make debauched jokes about women, or be friendly with female shills, it's another to be in relationship with a debauched self-promoter. If Hasselbeck loses all credibility in DK's mind for supporting Palin, Maher loses comedic license for me when it comes to women.

go in on youtube and type in andrew dice clay. I was growing up thru that time. he would do these dry-ass limericks and people would laugh but after awhile he dropped fast mostly because he was saying racists shit and misogynistic shit.

I saw it on You Tube and Maher stood his ground against Hasselbeck who even after doing Survivor has sort of a thin skin. I wished he said "No wonder you had been voted out of the island." Plus she can't let it go. Had she has thick skin like Ann Coulter it would had gone off her back. Maher is great with "New Rules" and I look forward to his next book.

I am talking about other incidences - its well know in the industry that he cant take any criticism or any of the type of funnies he dishes out himself.

For example, a producer - I forget his name- made some funny comments about him - Maher actually went so far as to call up this producer, at night and berated him for one hour for something that really wasn't that bad.
If he is on air, of course he will not raise steam, he is on air. He is not stupid.
