Attire

What I find most interesting among interracial couples I see strolling down the street is their attire. The kinship among the two is synonymous which, leads me to this question;

What type of attire do you find most and least attractive when you are on the hunt?

Are there any exceptions to your rule?

Considering a relationship can only work when each party offers 50% (50% Man plus 50% Woman equals 100% compatibility) there must be some degree of compromise.

If you made an exception to your rule, do you try to persuade your significant other to venture beyond his or her attire as the relationship blossoms?

While many have their fetishes and are willing to satisfy their lover, let us look at the practicality of everyday life.

How open-minded are you to have your wardrobe changed to something totally different to please your newly found romance if asked?

I know for a fact that I’d have to upgrade just a tad. I’m the kind of brotha who dresses the same way on a daily basis when I’m out running errands or just a routine day doing whatever. It’s kinda like this:

Dark-blue New York Yankee pro-model
Black sweatshirt
Blue-jeans
Timberlands (standard)

If I’m going out kickin it with my crew you better believe that I clean up very nicely:

Button-down shirts with cufflinks
Fresh pair of jeans
Fresh pair of Timberland boots
40-inch Cuban-link chain with signature medallion
Diamond earrings
No hats

I really don’t see anything wrong with my routine because the two are 180 degrees apart and I can change it up as I see fit.

I could care less what my woman wears. Just as long as it’s classy, she’s still looking sexy as hell, and she’s flossing her fresh pedicure for all to see.

 

I'm pretty open when it comes to fashion. I've got my own style, and I'm quite enjoying it (I've only explored that side of myself since I got divorced), but I don't mind changing up a few things, as long as I still feel comfortable, if it'll make my boy smile. I don't generally wait for him to ask, though. I'll find out what the guy likes, and then try it out for myself. If I don't like it, then he never knows, but if I do, then it's a plus for both of us because I found something new that I liked and he likes it, too.

I bought my first pair of stilettos because my boy made a comment about how he'd love to see me in a pair, and I do not regret the purchase, cause they're my favorite girly shoes now


I guess the bottom line is...I'll change the way I dress, but only on my own terms, and if he can't accept it, then I don't want him.

As for what I find attractive? Ask Tony Soprano, since he pretty much summed it up with his "going out" clothes. I like a man who knows how to dress nice. But at the same time I love seeing a man in his "comfortable" clothes. There's just something sexy about a man in his boxers and wifebeater, but maybe it's just me. I like my boy's style. He keeps it simple a clean. Small gold chain (only about 20 inches, with a little medallion, more of a sentimental piece than something to flash.) most of the time you can't even see the necklace cause it's tucked under his shirt. Then he'll have on a solid color tshirt, usually black or this lovely burnt orange color, and a pair of crisp jeans, topped off with either his nice tims or cute converse. Or if he's in a lot of light colors out come the brightest white nikes I've ever seen in my life. haha.

Me? My style is as ecclectic as my music tastes. I've went through many phases in fashion, and remnants of each drastic change have made their way into my daily clothing. I love antique looking jewelry sometimes and dark eye make up thanks to being goth before, so I'll do that with a shirt with extra flowy fabric on the arms, and a pair of dark jeans...but then the next day it's pink and blue shimmery shit on my eyes, some max factor blindingly shiny lip gloss, baby pink tank top and my light jeans that show off my ass.

Ah, who am I kidding, there's always -something- shiny on me at any given time. I like sparklies. If I had to pick one thing that defined my style, it'd be: sparkly. hehe. And skirts. and heels. oh I love skirts and heels. Pretty, girly things.

Then I'll bust out the baggy jeans and a tshirt that says "You're unique, just like everyone else" or "Deezenuts" with a picture of thugged out Charlie Brown and Snoopy on it, just to confuse people when I don't feel like dressing up.

 

I like a man who dresses with taste, classic and casual, and I dress the same way. I've maintained my style since my early twenties and don't see myself changing it.

I like to be a cameleon...i tend to dress how i feel for the day. for some reason i like suits on women.

i am a wife beater gal if i am home, with comfy lounge pants. I am a running suit advocate if i am out grocery shoppin, or at the mall.

when i go out to the clubs-which aint often...i get alittle crazy...but not hoeish crazy...

one thing that is an absolute dont in my book is women with panty lines.....why o why ladies do u do that.....many have a bangin ass but u see underware lines and it really is repulsive....

i have alot of tats so i can make them visible or hide them and wear glasses and noone would ever guess...

as for a man-i like men in suits....i like men that have a good taste in shoes-Jordans are hot-especially the new one out recently

Here is my response to my own question.

I grew up wearing a lot of button-downed long sleeve shirts, shoes, khaki pants and, dress slacks so, I would imagine it reflects the way I dress today as an adult. I still have my Blazer when I was 10 years old which I feel played a part why I own so many Suits today. Of course, I had my rebellion years as a teen which introduced Jeans and Sneakers to the picture. But, I’ve gone back more to wards my original form as a pre-teen in terms of attire in my College years.

Today, I have one pair of sneakers (adidas Samba) and around twenty pairs of shoes which varies anywhere from pointed, rounded, leather sole, rubber sole and, dress boots. I don’t even own a pair of Timberland Boots (Never did). All I wear is button-downed long sleeve shirts, with either American Eagle or, Gap Jeans. I do wear Rugby, and, Polo shirts to change up the momentum however. The more expensive Jeans fit me far worse than those costing less in value. This is the reason why I don’t see the logic in investing in such wear.

I tend to like Women who are less flamboyant with their fashion sense, while looking as girly as possible. Name brand clothing that leaves her looking like a walking billboard is not my cup of tea. Too revealing is nice eye candy but, not someone I would take seriously. I like the element of surprise and, having everything showing leaves no element thus, no surprise. Clothing that is very tight reeks seeking too much attention. Wearing a summer dress and business skirts which drapes over her body shows more femininity (And is very sexy) than overly tight jeans in my opinion. I prefer a Woman that takes two hours in the bathroom/bedroom to prepare herself and, come out stunning than, two minutes to in front of any mirror, throws on a baseball cap and runs out the front door.

My attire and, preference in a Woman limits my choices tremendously. However, I know what it is like to the lower my standards and, it is something I don’t want to experience again.

Am I willing add her ideas to my wardrobe? Sure! Providing she doesn’t try to turn me into something I am not.

I usually dress boho-chic, hippie chick or classic. I like men in suits, crisp shirts, no jewellery. But I still have a soft spot for the old-school rocker style: all-black, leather, boots, silver jewellery... ahh, high-school...

 

Up to a certain degree I would change my dress code but nothing extreme.That wouldnt be me anymore

 

Same here! Is there anything sexier than a handsome man in a good suit?? And I don't like jewelry on men either. The only decoration a man needs is a good you-know-what.
