Lovely story Mos. And I'm so on the same wave length with your husband. Why let people's assumptions and negativity bother you? Be secure about who you are and you won't spend your life, go to bed with and wake up with all those people anyway, but with the ones who are close to you . It is annoying if you let it affect you, true, but no one will ever be able to please everybody, anyway.

I don't get this at all..

first off I don't know that many white friends who care if I date black men, whether they date IR or not... and I know I do not care who my friends, no matter their race dates either..

and for those who do date IR having less friends?

I'd love to know where you get that stat.. because from where I stand, it isn't true.

Okay, i'll take your ID and try and find you, but i have to admit.... i can never seem to operate the search engine on myspace for some reason. I'll try and see if i can find you.... About the sites that i use, i've found that the websites that i definitely get the most responses from are singlesnet.com and true.com. I didn't get any from afroromance, and i didn't get too many from americansingles or anything like that. I get responses from some pretty attractive girls from true.com but all of the caucasian girls, even though they send me a message, in their profiles it always says that they're only looking for white guys, so i just don't understand the logic behind that at all. I mean, why send me a message, if in your profile it states that your preference is for white guys only?? Anyway, overall i haven't had much success finding what i'm looking for online. I guess i'll just have to get out there into the real world and give it a shot sometime. :?

Love this ! From assumptions on IR daters it's dating people you've met in real life rather than through the internet :smt043

that's one of the reasons i like this forum, when you open a page you never know what you'll come across hahahahaha.......

That is soooo backward isn't it Seychelles.
I'd rather meet somebody online than to have to go "OUT THERE" and meet someone. LOL....

To go out there an meet someone. At least you get to see them in person, instead of over the Internet, which is no guarantee that it's really them in their photo or otherwise.

That you are promiscuous, that you seek black men for a novelty, that because you date one black mean, you will easily give it up for another (like they are all the same?)

Internet dating is not a bad thing, but it should not be considerdd a substitute but rather a means supplementing the traditional way of meeeting people (face to face).

I consider meeting someone online to be a kind of level zero - level one being the stage at which you meet the person face to face. I think online daters will fare well to think along similar lines. You still have to meet that person face to face an access them properly like you would had you met under the traditional circumstances.

i found that when i was in college it was a experience different than as a grown up. I went to southern University and southern university-even the most progressive in teaching arena-is socially conservative as far as certain interactions go. White women came to either educated up to the upper class or marry into the upper class. They had this called a Mrs. Degree that was batted around now and again.
Young White women came to school, joined sororities and married upper class men. They didn't date the bad boy, they hooked up with him or her, at some beer soaked party and giggled about it with their sisters.

Those who were not in the Greek system held to certain practices that maintained their status as viable options to date. Those who dated other than white did so briefly or the guise of it being a "friendship". In fact if ask point blank they would refer to the guys as friends party buddies.

I think now a days though, and i saw a little of this in final days of schooling, with younger people there is a presumption of experimentation. If a white guy brings home a black female for Christmas holidays or is acknowledged as dating a black female then it is assumed to a certain extent that it is college oat sowing as it were.
What i find fascinating is that it is now being applied to a certain extent for white females. Mothers with a little more financial stability and personal security are more accepting of their daughters experimentation's as long as they stay as such.
As long as the relationship is brief and that it stays within the boundaries of the campus it is tolerated . But the goal is the typical marriage structure the socially accepted role etc etc.

I don't care at all what people think about who I'm with. It's a waste of energy worrying about what people are thinking about you. At the end of the day all that matters is that me and the person I'm with are happy with each other.
