LOS ANGELES -- Muscleman-turned movie star-turned California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is back before the cameras. He's on the New Mexico set of "The Last Stand," playing the starring role as a small town border sheriff. The actor posted a message on his Twitter account late Monday saying, "Fantastic first day on the set of The Last Stand. Big thanks to the crew - keep up the great work." The Lionsgate studio says Schwarzenegger plays a former Los Angeles police officer who ends up sheriff of a small border town after a botched operation. The movie is a modern day Western about convicts making their way to the Mexico border through New Mexico after escaping from a Las Vegas prison. "The Last Stand" is being directed by Kim Jee-Woon.
I've no idea how he's going to do any stunts, considering the ravages on his body from long term PED's and weight lifting.
arnold is so one-dimensional when it comes to films clint eastwood, sean connery and morgan freeman are three guys that I think 'got better' as they aged. Those guys were/are still able to deliver powerful roles that fill seats, because they're so much more than what Arnold will ever be. as for arnold's questionable past, those drugs were good for him when he landed Terminator, Predator and Conan roles. Now...eh Stallone still uses banned substances tho. I remember reading about him being stopped in Australia or something a few years back, doping for his movies Look how big and cut he was in The Expendables. He's around the same age as Arnold I would think....
Yeah, that was pretty big on the news down here when that happened. Mostly I just thought he was an idiot and a cry baby. If you try to bring illegal substances into a country, you've got to deal with the consequences. I agree with Arnold being one-dimensional. He's had his day, I'm not sure he'll be able to make a come back. But, then again...who knows? My man loves the hell outta him. Hahaha! He's a freak for bad (and some good) action movies.
when you looked like this, it's hard to go back he tries to hit his peak for just about every role he has, but he's getting older and it's probably becoming much harder. So...enter those banned supplements Arnold on the other hand...either he just gave up or his body doesn't react to exercise like it used to. He looks sloppy
Looking forward to it, I enjoy majority of his films. His one dimensionalism is what makes him so awesome.
lol the expendables filled seats, so i guess a movie with arnold for his old-time fans will do the same i was hoping for another predator film with him in it, tbh
I agree that Arnold is a one dimensional actor, but I quickly add, so is Stallone. They both came along when the idea of buffed up physiques was more important than acting chops. Once Arnold left movies, working out was no longer important and he let himself go. It has nothing to do with ineffective exercise, just a self importance that he'd ascended to a different level and his physique wasn't important any longer. You've to also remember that you're comparing Arnold, a world class physique at one point, to Stallone, who got buffed up for movies. There's no comparison in the amount of drugs and types of drugs that Arnold took versus Stallone, thus Arnold's health issues, which included heart bypass if I'm not mistaken. Stallone, on the other hand, had a very ripped upper body, but had legs that would make you think we could trip over a bottle cap, not the same kind of physique as Arnold or most competitive bodybuilders. Don't forget that most of those other actors aren't very big also. I always tell people that you want to see the effect of steroids, find an old picture of Bruce Jenner, when he competed as a decathlete. He was big and buff. Now, you look at him and it looks like he never lifted a weight or was a jock at all. That's what you get when you've an athlete who's built from steroid use. If I never lifted a weight anymore in more life, I'd never look as non-athletic as Jenner looks now, and tv adds 10 lbs to boot.
