And the observation about Hip Hop not recognizing Macklemore is true because the Hip Hop radio station here in Seattle where Macklemore lives doesn't play his shit in heavy rotation compared to the pop & soft rock radio stations here who have him in heavy rotation. And the same Seattle Hip Hop station back in the day before it went totally commercial use to be real big on promoting local hip hop music or local music period, so much so that when Nirvana blew up they were even playing their shit in heavy rotation.
