The SAINTS are going to bounce back... NO more hurricane...the only hurricane is going to be Reggie Bush who is going to torment the opponents` defenses!!!! The PATRIOTS will be back...Brady is mad he didn`t even reach the superbowl The STEELERS will NOT repeat without the bus and a diminished Big Ben!!! And sorry Bryant, but DA BEARS won`t go anywhere without offense!...and it will even be worse if Grossman gets hurt again!!! The COLTS will underachieve, yet again!!! GO BLACK AND GOOOOOOOOOOLD!!! And Go LSU, my school!! We need some FOOTBALL...Baseball SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!
The SAINTS should be alright. Ya'll checked out that run Bush did gettin' around the corner and up the sideline?? That's only a small taste of what he'll do this season breakin' ankles. The PATRIOTS...they'll be alright. They still have Brady, but they need their receivers to all sign in and get their work in. The STEELERS...gotta deal with the BENGALS again this year. Da BEARS...not ready for the next level, baby. The COLTS..."see descrip. for DA BEARS" Ya'll might hate, but my sleeper team this year is the Dolphins. They got Daunte and I think those receivers will overachieve. And that defense. Yeah, they lost Sam Madison in the secondary, but still got Zach T. and Jason Taylor up front. I think they'll challenge the Pats in the east and make the playoffs.
Boy am i glad that i can talk football with somebody for a change. Now, on to my comments about what you've said. 1. I do agree with you about New England. Tom Brady has ice water in his veins. I've never seen a quarterback so calm and cool under pressure in my life. He'll probably be right up there with Joe Montana when it's all said and done. It will be Indianapolis (even though they are notorious chokers), Cincinnati, Denver, Pittsburgh, New England, and Kansas City fighting it out in the AFC. However, i do think that Baltimore is going to be REALLY dangerous now that they have Steve McNair. They could be the sleeper Super Bowl pick this year. 2. I hate the Steelers. It was a fluke run last year. They should have never even gotten past Cincinnati. If it weren't for Carson Palmer going down, Cincinnati would have been in the Super Bowl, not the Steelers. Big Ben, and Troy Polamalu are both great players though. I'll give them at least that much credit. 3. Even though i'm rooting for my home team the Chicago Bears, i am NOT a homer. I like telling it like it is. Rex Grossman IS injury prone, and he's unproven. I do like his upside a LOT, but after watching Brian Griese play the other night, he just might be the one to lead us to the promised land this season, not Rex Grossman. Rex would make one helluva backup though. If we can score 21 pts a game this season, with the defense that we have, we'll be right there with Dallas (who i consider favorites in the NFC), Washington, New York, Carolina, Seattle, and Philadelphia.
Don't you remember how Daunte looked in Minnesota right after Randy got traded, and before he got hurt?? He threw 10 picks in 3 games. He looked lost, and unsure of himself. He's always had the luxury of having either Chris Carter or Randy Moss on the field (who in my opinion is the greatest receiver in the game) so he's never really had to actually READ defenses. He would just throw deep, and somebody would come down with it. Now, i like Daunte Culpepper. Maybe he needed a change of scenery. But, just like Rex Grossman is unproven, Daunte Culpepper has yet to prove that he can put up gaudy stats without Chris Carter or Randy Moss. Chris Chambers is a really good receiver though, so he might make up for it. It should be a great season. I can't wait!!
I didnt see what PACMAN JONES said about Reggie... what did he say??? ANYWAY, Reggie will be THE MAN this season...just you watch!!! Man, the Steelers a fluke???? do you know who HINES WARD is??? you didn`t even mention him BRYANT!!! focus!!! TO...best receiver in the NFL...and biggest jerk as well Randy isn`t far behind!!
Pacman Jones got interviewed after their preseason game against the Saints, and they asked him what he thinks about Reggie Bush. He said that "Bush isn't very strong, and if you cut off the corners you can stop him." He went on by saying that his talent level is just "ok." I personally think that Bush is as talented as they come, but will end up being injury prone throughout his career. He just doesn't look big enough to take the NFL type of pounding for sixteen weeks. He may be fast, but the NFL defenders are also fast, and they're strong and athletic enough to chase him on those edges. I do think he'll have a productive career though, if he can somehow avoid injuries. Sorry, i didn't mention Hines Ward did i?? I don't know how i forgot about him. He is a great player. But i meant what i said about their super bowl run being a fluke. Carson Palmer threw a 50 yard strike down the field on the very first play of the game, and immediately got hurt after that. If he had've been on the field, they would have beaten the Steelers in that game. Again, i do have to listen when you argue for T.O. being the best receiver in the game. T.O. is big, and strong, and fast, and can do everything. Randy doesn't go up the middle, but he more than makes up for that with his deep catches. That's definitely a good debate though. I personally love both of those guys (including Steve Smith, Chad Johnson, and Larry Fitzgerald). Oh well, the season starts September 11th i think, so let the best WR win.
No offense J but F--k the the saints!!! The Saints fans & media tried to place most of the Saints failures on Aaron Brooks & liked to make insinuations about his lack of intelligence. Archie Manning,Ken Stabler nor Bobby Hebert(Fans & media love them) couldn't win a playoff game here ,but Aaron was the only one to win one in 40 years. Now that Aaron is gone(I'm glad for him & will pull for the Raiders) Saints fan & media will see how little talent this team has & see that Drew Brees isn't as talented as Brooks. They will be very lucky to win 6 or 7 games. I like Horn,McAllister,Grant,Bush,etc.. but I will find it hard to root for the saints organization as a whole. I worry about Bush though & feel like the comparisons to Sayers were ridiculous. I hope he is successful though.
That's right.. I have mixed feelings over Daunte going.. he has his moments but he wasn't all that consistent.. god I miss the days of Moss, Reed and Carter.. and don't' you all give me #$#%.. cuz I know my team never goes far.. but I'm a fan through and through ANY WAY
Wow Kinfolk...are we watching the same Saints team??? Aaron Brooks is more talented than Brees??? He won a playoff game for the Saints...YES!!!...I`ve been to many Saints game...I`ve seen many (and God, I mean many) interceptions...backward awkward passes...BIIIIIIIIIG smiles after he threw some horrrrrrrrible passes than only a bird could have caught!!! Brooks is talented, sure...and probably all the blame for the Saints woes shouldn`t be on him...but he sure is a liability at quaterback, and a big one...the Raiders and Randy moss will soon find out!!!! You seem angry a the Saints organization, but I am a sportsman, not just a watcher...I like the game, and despite the awful spirit of the Saints organization and the owner, I watch the players and wish them well...Bush is terrific, so are Horn, Stallworth and the others you mentioned...I`m a true fan, and I wish them the best!!!!
You should know better than that Qsassy...a broken ankle cannot keep TO from playing in the Superbowl, a tight hamstring isn`t gonna keep him from shining and showing everyone he still is THE number one WR in the league!!! He will make defenders suffer this season and with him, the Cowboys are going to be a DANGEROUSLY DANGEROUS team!! TO is a jerk...but whether you like him or not, in the entire NFL, only Randy Moss is close to being as good as TO is...
Have you been watching the same games ???They claimed Brooks had so much talent at receiver , but Stallworth(Whom you called great) is struggling for a job on this team. The only reason he may not get cut is because he may have some trade value as a #3 receiver. Yes!!! 40 years and no playoff wins should get you some F'ing respect! This town did the same thing to Jim Mora who along with Finks(& great defense) bought this organization some respectability. You never won crap before Mora & Brooks ,but you have the audacity to run them outta town but kiss Mannings,Hebert,etc.. butt? He had Wes Chandler & Chuck Muncie,Hebert had one of the best defenses of his era & they won nothing & this town kisses their butts! The Saints had the 32nd defense(Butt booty last) a year ago but they crucify & criticize Brooks? The Raiders are/were(falling on hard times lately) a legitimate organization & Saints fan(who haven't won a damn thing) shouldn't concern themselves with the Raiders. They have actually won something! Talk to me in a few months win every one is wondering why the Saints spent so money much on Brees. Who completed over 100(dump off passes) to L.T. & got his Comp. % up. Brooks was a pro bowl QB(Theismann agrees in 2004) 24 tds & 6 ints. Yes he was up & down in 2005 but the man deserved far more respect than he got. Brooks Smiling?A Backward pass which he thought he was lateralling to Deuce? That's all you can remember? He probably holds most of the Saints positive passing records(in 5 seasons) as well. I hope Brooks spends the money he got from the Saints well. He deserved it. Talk to me in a few months. Please post about the saints when they actually win something.
I'm not a Saints fan, but i have watched some of their games, and let me tell you.... that guy Aaron Brooks, he just looked completely lost out there. When Brooks would throw a pick, it didn't seem like he cared all that much, and i hate that. It shows a lack of accountability on his part, and also a lack of leadership. He seemed like a guy who was content on getting his team 8 or 9 wins, and collecting his paycheck. Drew Brees did have LT and Antonio Gates in San Diego, but he'll have Bush and McAllister, and Horn in New Orleans, so he'll be fine. I'm hoping for a career year from Aaron Brooks (so that my boy Randy can start getting his props again) but if past performances are any indicator, i shouldn't be getting my hopes up.
Jeez Kinfolk, aren`t u a real Football fan? I like that, but your passion BLINDS YOU MAN! I did say that all the blame shouldn`t rest on Brooks for the Saints past struggles...I did say he has some talent...I did criticize the Saints organization...but like all BLIND and PASSIONATE football fan and probably a disappointed Saints fan, you just pick the parts where I criticize Brooks...to pick me apart...oh well...have fun man! Also, I never praised Brees or said he should already be in the hall of fame...where the hell do you come up with something so...INSANE??? and please do not tell me that "SAINT FANS DO THAT..." So far they hope, they are a bit fired up...which I can`t blame them for...but I find you just as fast to BURY Brees before the regular season even starts, as the Saints fan were quick to blame all on Brooks!! So I`ll post here about the Saints, even if they win 3 games only...bcoz I`m a fan...I won`t quit on them...do whatever you please!! ALL HAIL Aaron Brooks!!...oh yeah and you mentioned his name along Tom Brady`s and Peyton Manning`s...I need some Pepcid or some anti-acid...Argh !
You know why my favorite position in Football is wide receiver (no sexual intentions here )...these guys are elegant... Randy Moss isn`t better than TO, but he has elegance and grace when he catches a ball...his footwork is amazing... As a person...Randy isn`t the nicest guy, I agree...but to be the best, I really believe sometimes you need to be a bit of a self-centered, proud prick...especially in competitive sport! Peaaaaaace
I get what you're saying, that you want to give the guy a little bit of respect for getting your team it's only playoff win, but what about all of those other losing seasons that he's had kinfolk?? Don't you look for sustained excellence out of your quarterback, year after year, or are you looking for 1, maybe 2, quality pro bowl type years and then that's it?? Aaron Brooks was in a Saints uniform for quite some time, and all he could muster was one playoff win with Deuce McAllister in the backfield (who is a beast running the football) and Joe Horn on the outside (who has consistently been one of the top receivers in the league). They had enough talent to win more games than they did, and even though the rest of the team had glaring holes, it's the quarterbacks responsibility to lead by example. The guy does have a really strong arm, but his football IQ leaves a lot to be desired in my opinion. He makes poor decisions early and often. For like the past 4 or 5 years, i would watch the Saints towards the end of the season when they still had a chance to get into the playoffs, and in the most critical games for them, Brooks would make the dumbest mistakes and it would cost them the game (along with bad defense and Stallworth's dropped balls of course). And when you say that Brooks was one of the most productive qb's of this era, i'm sure that he was, maybe stat wise, but that didn't translate into success on the football field for whatever reason, so therefore, it was irrelevant. It was all just window dressing. If Drew Brees has a weaker arm, and throws for less yards than Aaron Brooks, but his team consistently makes it to the playoffs, that sounds like a much sweeter deal to me. One last thing, when somebody throws a pick, and smiles, it DOES NOT show coolness under pressure. It shows COCKINESS. When Peyton Manning or Tom Brady throws a pick, they both look like they just stepped in a pile of dog poop or something. They are NOT smiling. They're pissed about throwing picks, and they should be because every pick that you throw gives the opposing team confidence, and it can also really take the crowd out of the game.
