It debuted last month as a joint vehture between BBC One & Netflix. No release date currently for Netflix though so probably Summer 2018 in America? I just registered for real-debrid so I could stream it on kodi. This show is filling the void left by Spartacus & Vikings!!! The plot is staying true to the source material so far two episodes into the season. Has anyone else been watching every weekend?

I heard some complaints about the casting. Too Many Black Men? Any good sex scenes?

YES!!! There are SPECTABULOUS sex scenes from the very first episode "Black Blood". Many of the actors are unfamiliar to me but nonetheless attractive and some are from similar shows familar to most like World without End & Game of Thrones. Quee Helen of Troy is so very stunning especially in episode 2 where she is doing something strange & mysterious which nearly drives Prince Alexander mad with blue balls or forbidden lust. Get real-debrid for your android box or fyrestick it is such an upgrade and its affordable!! 9 euros got me 90 day service = 12$ Pick the package u like as I saw some for 3 euros or 15 euros but I decided to get the special being featured in February.

They're always doing these type of shows and they never last that long. SPARTACUS, Ancient Rome, Rome, Reign, The Pillars Of Earth, The Tudors.

Vikings are still new, but regardless don't ever last long but yet they keep doing them. Are they so desperate to find the next GoT. Only type of show in ancient times I would love to see is a show about Ancient Egypt done right, but doubt they would do that. But I think imo it would have close to the GoT success with black pharaohs, mummies and black gods.

Pillars of the Earth is still an all-time favorite and in my
view definitely influnced George RR Martin before he wrote ASOIAF. For years I held the belief that Jon Snow was conceived like Jack Builder thanks to Lord Varys aka Rugen of the Red Keep's dungeons and a strategic favor he performed to endear himself to Princess Elia and her desparate friend Lady Ashara!! It all aligns so effortlessly for B+A = J and the future favor Elia would later entrust Varys to perform with confidence as the fall of House Targaryen inevitably approached :(

In the 3rd episode Achilles gets significant 1-on-1 bedroom time with a very major character with whom he shares substantial history as she implies while she caresses his Black face

Well these types of historical fantasy shows tend to be rather expensive.

The problem with Vikings is it lacks the fantasy element...ie none of the Low Magic or Dragons.

Hold on, wait a minute. Achilles is black on this show? How?

That is what all the controversy was about when it was announced last year. Newsflash: Achilles isn't alone!!! BBC One used regional casting agencies on location in Johannesburg, SA and some well-established Black Britons too for more prominent roles like Zeus, King of Olympus!!! Looks to me like 25% of the cast is Black.

I don't agree with it. Should've kept them white. if they really wanted piss off the right people just do a show about Ancient Egyptian Pharaohs and Gods and make them black. Which is what the majority of them were proven to be.

I don't follow the logic...I would think they be more pissed about Heroes and Gods, they think of as white being depicted as Black then they would of Egyptians.

Besides I love reversing the Best Actor for the job got the part.

Im referring to all the years of Hollywood making ancient egyptians white and other. Historians and youtube "historians" swearing up and down that there were no black pharaohs and gods in ancient egypt. They think we were slaves during that time too. lol.

No I get that I just dont see why the type of person who would get mad about this Troy Show would be more pissed about a Egyptian Show with Black Actors then a show that depicts Achilles, Zeus, Athena and Artemis as Black among others.

Granted changing appearances was a pretty basic power for the Greek Gods...

Ancient Egyptans weren't Black . . . the Ancient Kush kings were Black and they
only ruled Egypt for 75 years according to National Geographic back in 2008. Nubia and Kush were not Egypt though they did for a time co-exist. Egyptian scholarly records have tried to deny the Black pharohs but the Kushites did subjugate the Egyptians for several generations

I have seen several sources citing (some even with proof.) that Ancient Egypt didn't really start becoming more european until the 25 dynasty. Some doing research on the mummies were able to determine through hair mean http://egyptsearchreloaded.proboards.com/thread/928/hanging-hair-ancient-egyptian?page=2

Cheikh Anta Diop used the Melanin dosage test

    http://www.nbufront.org/MastersMuseums/JHClarke/Contemporaries/CheikhAntaDiop.html

from dnatribes.com, they stated that the Ancient Egyptians originated in Central Africa and had only less than 4.99% Eastern Meditteranean DNA.

    excerpt from https://www.nature.com/articles/ncomms15694

"By comparing ancient individuals from Abusir el-Meleq with modern Egyptian reference populations, we found an influx of sub-Saharan African ancestry after the Roman Period"

That's some of the info and research that made their cases.

I knew a little bit of what you were saying. Thanks for the further info.
