I'm planning on heading to the West Indian Day Parade in NY in September. (Labour day long weekend.) I've heard nothing but great things and it sounds like a lot of fun, and I finally have the chance to go, so I am. :D Anyone here planning on going too?

Do you have any more info on it?

Good idea. lol Here is the official website: http://www.wiadca.org
And I should mention that it is more "Carnival" than just a parade. The parade is just the main event.

I've been looking through the photo gallery they have on the site, and I must say it looks a bit intimidating. Apparently over 2 million people attend each year.

I haven't been in a couple of years.

Might check it out if i'm not working.

Awesome. When is the last time you attended? Is it as fun as I've heard it is?

Oh yes it is. As much fun as the Puerto Rican Day Parade, if not better. You should see for yourself.

    Sound very tempting!

Their site doesn't have much current info on 2007 events though.

I found that too. Aside from what to expect and the date it's happening, there isn't much info. I think the site is more a place to recap previous years.

It looks a lot of fun though! If you go, you must post pictures, lol. Right now it's unlikely time and $$ but if things change, I'll be there in a minute, lol. I've seen some of the West Indies and loved it. :smt023
