I'm planning on heading to the West Indian Day Parade in NY in September. (Labour day long weekend.) I've heard nothing but great things and it sounds like a lot of fun, and I finally have the chance to go, so I am. Anyone here planning on going too?
Good idea. lol Here is the official website: http://www.wiadca.org And I should mention that it is more "Carnival" than just a parade. The parade is just the main event. I've been looking through the photo gallery they have on the site, and I must say it looks a bit intimidating. Apparently over 2 million people attend each year.
Oh yes it is. As much fun as the Puerto Rican Day Parade, if not better. You should see for yourself.
I found that too. Aside from what to expect and the date it's happening, there isn't much info. I think the site is more a place to recap previous years.
It looks a lot of fun though! If you go, you must post pictures, lol. Right now it's unlikely time and $$ but if things change, I'll be there in a minute, lol. I've seen some of the West Indies and loved it. :smt023
