My thighs are not friends with you Mikey

I managed 10 of those hindu squats and OH MY LORD going up and down stairs is painful today! Lucky today is a day off from my run. Hmph. ;)

Secretly they do love it though. Haha no pain no gain right?

I know, it appears that way, but it would work for LittleBird's situation. She should stretch out her legs, quadriceps, hamstrings, etc before doing the squats to prevent an injury.

For a while, I didn't run much but as of lately, I've decided to start-up again. I'm now doing about 6 miles a week. Not much, but I'm slowly increasing my weekly mileage.

Yep, I run as well. Just about to return to the road after 3 days off. Sore ankle from sleeping in a weird position.

Good for you.. keep at it. It's good to build up to it, because it helps you remain consistent.

I run in Asics Gel Kinsei and run 4 or 5 times a week. I do a mix of longer 7 or so miles (just over 10ks) and faster paced 5ks (just over 3 mile) where I try and go hard out.

I find the shoe is good for correcting my rolling on the right foot inwards but am keen to try Brooks too. I do find the comfort level is down a bit on the longer run.

You appear to be doing well out there, Leksola. Anyways, I plan on running cross country for a University by the Fall of 2012 to help lower college costs and also achieve something great throughout college. I'm confident that I'll be fast enough to handle the competitive nature of the other runners by then.

Thanks! Yeah I'm definitely getting there. I do the longer run on two days and the shorter one on two days with sometimes some resistance training or other cardio like cross trainer or bike.

I've never run in a race before or joined a running club but it has been my goal to build my fitness so I can do that, I think I'm just about there now.

Any recommendations on running shoes? It depends a lot on your foot as to what suits you I know.

On the other two days I do something like strength or resistance training.

Today though I'm off to play in the snow!

Hahaha.. more fun not to grow up!

Well I have to travel to the snow so it's more a novelty for me :p

I came over to New Zealand for a few days, they have great snow.

I've gone for a beautiful mountain trek this morning now I'm looking forward to lunch.

Yay for snow Leksola! When it snowed here over Christmas all the Londoners complained. I loved it and ran around in it barefoot.

Went for a run this morning - another shitty effort. The second half was CRAP. So annoyed with myself for not running since Friday, I find I lose condition/fitness/stamina so quickly! Not happy. Definitely back to early morning runs as of tomorrow.

You're in for a world of hurt! :smt074

You'll do just fine on your run. I now plan to chase you on a bicycle (because apparently I'm too old to keep up) with a hot iron to poke you in the ass and make sure you run fast enough. HA!

i notice the same thing... whenever i am away from running for multiple days, like 4 or more, it feels like i am starting all over when i get out there. it's crazy how fast the body loses momentum.

I know, right?! I find anything more than 2 days break and I'm running uphill through honey the next time I'm out there no matter how I decrease my pace. The fact that the sun is stinking hot today didnt help. Running in cold is so much nicer.

running in honey... lol yea, i always say i feel like the tin man when my running gears are off.

definitely prefer a cool morning breeze! running during the summer is torturous. (but oh so rewarding when completed. lol)
