Any brothas out there get a late start in the IR dating game?

I have this cousin of mine. Great, funny kid. Use to ONLY date black girls. Well actually, it was more like ONE girl.

He basically had his high school sweetheart and they broke up in college. Now after that he never really started dating again, he was really getting into his work, and well... I guess it just didn't happen for him.

Anyway last year he turned 28. And BOOM! It was suddenly like someone shot cupid's arrow into his balls :smt063.

Cause I tell ya, from his birthday (where we had a massive party) to now - he has been non-stop hooking up with women.

I mean like he just found his Mack, and it was all dusty and unused so he decided, "screw it. I gots me some catchin' up to do!"

Thing is when he was younger he was never into white girls. So after all his time of NOT dating, I never would have figured he'd go for them.

BOY MY BROTHERS, WAS I DEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAD WRONG!!!!

Now he's constantly with another woman everynight, and if you knew him, you'd know how crazy that was (dedicated, sensible type).

But I'm not knocking it though.


What I would like to know is how many of the other fellas in here got a late start to the IR dating thing - more specifically around what age did you start approaching and dating white women?

 

I'm 32 now, and still haven't dated a WW yet.

Which is bananas, considering I've had a weakness for WW for as long as I can remember. Since as far back as kindergarten (seriously......I remember the white girl I fancied back then......I remember what she looked like......hell, I even remember her name!).

My reasons for never making it to the "lighter side" are several, but they pretty much boil down to bad luck and stars not aligning (interested in her but she wasn't interested in me, she was interested in me but it was a bad time in my life, interested in each other but it was too close for comfort (co-worker), she already had a man so no sense in pursuing her, she was lesbian, etc.).

So come to think of it.......I technically haven't gotten started in the IR dating game to begin with.

Looking forward to my first time (whenever that might be and whomever it might be with)...

I never even dated anyone until my 20s, white or black. I have no confidence in myself and I didn't think any girl would like me

 

Dex- What?!! Why would you feel that way? Was there an event in your life that prompted those feelings? Because honestly, there is someone for everyone in this world so even if you were unattractive (you aren't) or stupid (not that either) there would be someone out there for you. Glad you have gained self-confidence and have a happy relationship now though!

 

I was kind of like Dex. I didn't start dating period until my 20s because of self-esteem issues and body image issues.

 

I'm surprised, I think you come across as a very confidant individual, and you seem to be real caring also.

 

i was maybe am the same as you, i guess i have low self esteem. I guess its the reason I've never picked up a girl, i have no confidence at all in myself.

 

guess i was in the same boat...I didnt have my first girlfriend until I was a junior in college...I was a virgin until then as well....and I still havent dated a white woman

 

Dex , you got to be one of the most interesting characters on this board. I would love to pick your brain but I don't want to come across as being intrusive since I hate people being in my shit.

 

I really got into the IR scene kinda late. Better late than never though, and I may never look back either because y'all WW are where it's at.:smt023

 

I was too lazy to date anyone in high school. I just wanted to go to class, go to my different extracurricular activities and go home and play video games. When I was in mock trial as a senior...a sophomore girl (white girl) seemed to be interested but I wasn't sure because she had a boyfriend. I think I missed the boat on that one...she wanted to take me to prom...and she used to call me her "manly man"....also, a sophomore cheerleader (a freakin' cheerleader) used to crush on me in debate class. I kinda think she was playing around...but she used to always sit on my lap and rub my legs (upper thighs) in class. I was freaked out because even though she was only a couple of years younger...she looked really young. If I had the knowledge I have know...hmmm...I would have swung to hit at least one of those fences!

Interesting you should mention that, because.....and I don't mean to sound cocky here.....I've been thinking she'll be a lucky one too (I feel the intensity of that pent-up love, and it grows stronger over the years, whenever I come across an attractive WW that tickles my fancy).
