Do any of you know of any books written by a WW for WW who are with BM? For example...a book written by a WW for other WW that talks about such things as the cultural differences to expect, the differences between gender roles in Black vs White families, etc.?
There's this book which is quite good. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Beyond-Whit...ef=sr_1_2/202-5360601-9931825?ie=UTF8&s=books "Beyond the Whiteness of Whiteness" by Jane Lazarre
Thank you Ellahara. I ordered the book immediately. I think my wife will gain something from it. Thanks.
No problems. I found it interesting, especially when talking about raising mixed race children, and although I can't completely relate as I'm not American, I still understand what she means about the invisibility of whiteness. It's a sad, but very important fact for a white woman to learn; appreciating that no matter how sympathetic you are, you'll never experience what it's really like to be black.
