I do acknowledge it. But I would rather recognize that dogmatism is the root of this ridiculous calamity, rather than turn this into a complete witch hunt on an entire religious system. Granted, I may come off as too harsh on Christianity, but I'm merely exposing the extremism from that wing as well. It appears as though that over the last 12 years, we're quick to lump or push a collective into a category, undermining the fact that the percentage of people who actually engage in those actions are significantly less than the overall population. Yet, I do see a level of hypocrisy. When some radical Muslims commit acts of atrocity, the majority are quick to lump or seemingly lump all Muslims in that category. But when talking about the likes of Brevik, the KKK, The Christian Identity, or any other religious group, many are quick to give out statements like, "They don't represent what Christianity is." "They are isolated incidents." Basically, constructing excuses out of the notion that you belong in that label, so there is a direct effect towards you given your labeling of that identity. Law-abiding Muslims do the same, but they often get ridiculed for not standing up to the overtly-theocentric radical Muslims and yet Christians often are guilty of the same. What I'm asking is consistency. If you're willing to go out on a lamb and cite sources of one tragic incident and refer to it as religious extremism, then you have to apply it to others with a certain religious agenda, especially those in your own collective organization.
What witch-hunt?? These are bombing attacks made PUBLICLY 'in the the name of Allah' - mostly against their own fellow citizens, of whom I am sure some are Muslim. I didn't make those facts up. Compare it now to the Abortion clinic bombings by Christians in the Name of Jesus, against their fellow citizens. Explain the Genocide in Darfur of half a million non-Muslim Africans by Gaddafi's Janjaweed? No way can you compare the numbers. Not even close. And Christians do NOT "stand back and remain quiet like Muslims do", as you wrote. This country is (and many countries are) MAJORITY Christian and many are also LIBERAL and moderate Republicans. You better believe they are heard REAL LOUD when someone commits atrocities in the name of Jesus. Why are you skewering? Not cool.
I'm a no nonsense stickler for equal rights, whether they be man, woman, whatever faith, sexual orientation, race, etc. When I see there are people who still pervert religious beliefs for things like family honor and use it to take the lives of others, it makes my blood boil. Worst off I despise it if they come to Western societies with that same mentality. There is a disgusting strain of radicalism in Islam that uses religion as the pretext for every dastardly act committed. No matter how far reaching. That "so called film" for example, more akin to a piece of crap low budget video, had nothing to do with the United States of America. The U.S. government nor its citizens in any way were the conduits of that film. But because of our freedom of expression in our society, such garbage like that could be made by some shady unknown in society, who is allegedly a corrupt Coptic Christian who have their own issues with Muslims in Egypt when it comes to discrimination and violence perpetrated against them by the Muslim majority there. His response to one of the actresses when this story broke was "Tell the world that it wasn't you that did it, it was me, the one who wrote the script, because I’m tired of the radical Muslims running around killing everyone”.
When the likes of Anders Breivik or better yet, when we take into account the KKK, past and present, committed some horrendous acts, the news media are quick to denounce their actions, but never would you hear, especially from media outlets like Fox News, would go out and actually say that is a form of Christian terrorism. Again, if there's a direct similarity in identification, we're quick to dismiss it as much, contrary to the fact that they did commit those actions on the behalf of what they believe. The voices opposing their actions are loud, yet very mum on the critical part. The same applies to Muslims or any religious groups that tend to have their fair share of bad apples. I'm not denying your information and you're absolutely correct, but I do see that there is a lack of consistency in people who claim to denounce violence of sorts. Reject the blame on personal beliefs when it's your own, but willing to land on collectivism with others. Absolutely. This is why I still compare religion to alcohol. Consume too much, it poisons your brain and sense of rationale, no matter how educated you are.
Gaddafi killed people because he was a dictator. There have been dictators in the west as well that have killed many people. Besides that, do we have to mention the "Christian crusades" and how many people were killed in the process? Does this have to be a numbers game? Were people killed in the name of religion because the religions of the world are bad or were these simply murders looking for an excuse to cover their crimes. Of course Gaddafi is going to claim Islam, He is in a region were Islam is the dominant religion, not to mention that his country was part of the Islamic empire, which extended larger than the conquests of Rome. Politics anyone??
Noone loves this country more than me, but the fact is that the American people have a reputation of having a disdain for middle eastern culture. That is probably why when something like this happens, people in that region take it to heart. When you have been guilty of a certain type of behavior over a period of years then chances are that you may be accused of a similar act which you had no part of. Lucy Luciano is a perfect example of a conviction based on reputation. He actually went to prison for a racket he had no part of. Was he truly innocent?? You tell me.
What is funny about some of these folks is that China has one of the most repulsive records for dealing with the Uyghur population in China, who are Muslims. Russia for years ran a waging war with its Chechen republic who are Muslims, Muslims from Saudi Arabia and other parts came there for their piece of jihad. Russia and China are offering support at the U.N to Syria, Russia is providing militarily to Assad in Syria, where he is killing Muslims in order to hold on to power. How come you never see Muslim folks taking to the streets burning Russian or Chinese flags and talking about how awful China or Russia is to Muslims and how evil they are. Because they know unlike the West, Russia and China's leaders don't give a fuck about human rights or political correctness around these issues. I don't know how fair it is to say American people have a disdain for Middle Eastern culture, more so than a disdain for Islamic terrorism, whatever the justifications may be. I mean some of these protesting folks are talking about the U.S. government and American people need to apologize, the film needs to be burned and the makers of it need to be hanged. Are you fucking kidding me. I am respectful to everyone's culture and beliefs but they don't get to dictate anything outside of their society. Let them keep their intolerance in their society. I have no desire to change their societies, its up to them. Any clear thinking person is aware of the U.S. involvement in Middle Eastern affairs, something I personally have no desire to see happening. I have always felt let the Middle East solve its own issues and stop trying to babysit their numerous social issues. I suppose when you have claims to "world superpower" status you have to learn the hard way. So successive U.S. governments will continue to give them billions of dollars and play the game. Even as their leaders were in Europe begging for money and IMF loans, they were in the streets of Egypt attacking the U.S. embassy and the leader of Egypt was talking out of 2 sides of his mouth. Obama said it best, Egypt is neither an ally nor enemy. With their new government it remains to be seen what they are about.

Thx for sharing the link JC. Personally that region can go to hell in a handbasket for all I care until they are ready to enter the 21st century. Every society has its customs and beliefs of its respective culture, but there are some there who seem intent on having continued bloodshed at every turn no matter what.
