Every other citizen? Citizens get breaks all the time for violations.

Lol. You questioning what he actually practice? Did you go to law school?

Lol at you bringing up Sandra Bland. Not trollish at all huh?

Lol at hypothermia, why didn't he just go inside his house, but you have this brilliant criminal defense that you want to argue

Like l said earlier, his wife might have been mad he was intoxicated and banished him. Ever fallen asleep in your car in your driveway? I have. How about your chair, shit your bed is right there 50 feet away. Why not go to it, Mr Brilliant. Oh how l bet your drunk ass hasn't made it to your bed, lmao.

Questioning who? He said it himself, troll, that he is a civil law attorney. Ok?

    And its HYPERthermia l'd argue.

Nope, never fell asleep in my car in my driveway. You done projecting?

Any lawyer has more credibility than someone who didn't go to law school if law is the subject. How hard do you think it would be for him to start defending people in traffic court? Probably sooner than you could.

Dude, you're the one who brought up Loki to me because you wanted to be a smartass. Quit your shit already. We are allowed to discuss law issues without your pompous ass trying to dismiss the conversation by defaulting to Loki. Let me guess, you'd go to a chiropractor or podiatrist for back surgery.

    Not projecting in the least.

Curious...did you know, barring Amendment 2, that smoking weed is against the law in Florida, lol.
I'm sure you knew that, though.

    Sooooo...Do you use it?

Did you know if you do, you could lose your driver's licence. Even if you were not driving, or near a car, lol.

I would go to one of them before I would go to someone who didn't study any medical field at all. Lol

What is your point about weed now? All of a sudden you are against the law?

    Yawn

You engaged me talking about the law, and I responded. Don't like it then don't say shit to me.

I promise you a black member here has been given a warning by a cop for a moving violation, instead of a ticket. Go ahead, make a liar out of me, lol.

If I (or another non-cop) gets caught up in the same situation.... Any risk of my job/career... Many would say it's unfortunate, but laws are laws, no one is above them and I shouldn't considered the consequences before putting myself in that situation. They would rightly say... Why didn't you call a cab, take the subway, call someone to pick you up etc.

Especially in NY call a damn uber. It's like 3 taps and a 10 minute wait. It's not like back in the day you'd have a cab company shit is too easy to end up in those situations

I'm not against the law. Just the ridiculous law that says if you are intoxicated and asleep in your car outside your house, you are arrested for DRIVING while intoxicated. It's oxynoronic.

I actually didn't say shit to you. I engaged you pertaining to your friend being arrested. You talked the actual shit by replying with the snark about Loki and l. Cause that's all you had.

(Fyi) You don't need to be a lawyer to know the law. I can show you a hell of a lot of civilians who know the law on various matters. Lawyers are human like the rest of us. They don't know every law, particularly in specialized law.

So.....the law enforcement officer probably knew enough law to know that it probably wasn't a smart idea to sleep drunk in his car behind the wheel.......Lol

    Aaaand he went to jail

    Lmao

Aaaand you're doing a great job defending him.

    Lol

I totally get that a "law" was broken in that sleeping in your car while drunk is 'against the law'. What l'm having a hard time with is the 'driving' part. Says who? Don't they say..."pull over if" all the time. Can we say mixed messages.
I mean, how ridiculous is a law that says if you're asleep in your car sleeping (off a drunk), you're 'driving'. Even the law that if you're asleep in your car because you're tired...is 'public camping'.

Who was he harming asleep outside his house? Why is that even a law? I get getting nabbed on the road. That's fair. But in your driveway? Nanny State NY anyone?

Ps: btw, l have this currazy video to post that l saw a few years back...much to do with your OP.

    * And here is the actual dashcam uninterrupted, the first 2 mins are good, then skip to the 8 min mark, when it gets real meaty again, lol.

On another thread (can't remember which one) it was brought up that even if he was in the back seat sleeping without keys in the car he could be arrested for DWI. Loki talked about it too I believe.

I don't recall the article saying if the trooper was parked in a driveway or on the street.

This is indeed crazy. I fully side with the trooper on this one. I think the plainclothes cops clearly got their egos bruised (especially when he questioned the trooper and the trooper had a valid answer) when they were challenged by the trooper who's in uniform, and on a road where NJSP has jurisdiction. If the plainclothes officers felt like the trooper was flexing uneccessarily... They knew they were on his turf, and in my mind... common sense says to stand down and let the trooper assess the situation.

    True.
And the Plain clothes cops did not Radio in that they were in the vicitiny, which is standard courtesy protocol.

The only caveat is the Plain clothes cop kept reiterating " you know me! You know me, you knew who l was!"

With that being said, the Trooper may not have made the instant facial connection as he pulled them over, particularly with his mind laser-focused on approaching possible cop impersonators, since there was no radio alert, hence the automatic gun draw.
