A gunman with a long-standing beef against the Discovery Channel invaded its Maryland headquarters Wednesday and took several hostages. The suspect, identified by numerous media outlets as James Jay Lee, fired his gun once but didn't hit anybody, and cops believe he may have strapped explosives to his chest. "We're taking every precaution," Montgomery County fire department spokesman Capt. Oscar Garcia said. Three bomb technicians were already at the building in the Washington suburb of Silver Spring, Md., and more were on the way, said Garcia. So was the FBI. Meanwhile, children from a day care in the building were quickly evacuated - including four cribs full of babies - to a nearby McDonald's where they were reunited with their terrified parents. Believed to be 41, Lee was arrested there on littering and disorderly conduct charges last year after he staged a protest against Discovery Communications. Lee was apparently upset over Discovery's coverage of overpopulation, environmental and immigration issues. Discovery Communications operates cable and satellite networks including The Discovery Channel, TLC and Animal Planet. Discovery shows include "Cash Cab" and "Man vs. Wild," and TLC airs "American Chopper" and "Kate Plus Eight." Animal Planet also airs the controversial series "Whale Wars" about attempts by environmentalists to disrupt the Japanese whaling industry. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/nat...ired_at_discovery_channel_hq_in_maryland.html Some how I only know it is going to get worse with the economy. I am not happy that there isn't more episodes of dirty jobs but I wouldn't go this far.
UPDATE Police Say All Hostages Are Safe, Gunman James Lee Shot Dead The Eugenicist gunman James Lee posted an online manifesto revealing his views on how "parasitic human infants" should be eliminated and humans sterilized, providing a shocking insight into the dark side of the environmentalist cult that seeks to enact draconian eugenicist policies in the name of saving the planet. The gunman, named in reports as James J. Lee, ran a website called Save The Planet Protest. The site included a screed detailing how Lee saw the birth of newborn babies as a plague upon the planet in a chilling echo of how many top environmentalists are now demonizing humanity itself in their bid to enact dictatorial control measures in the name of halting climate change. According to reports, Lee underwent his environmentalist "awakening" when he watched former Vice President Al Gore's global warming documentary "An Inconvenient Truth." http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/38957020/ns/us_news-crime_and_courts/ In his online rant, Lee outlines the need to "disassemble civilization," while putting into place Malthusian programs of population reduction and sterilization in order to combat global warming by stopping people from breeding and ending completely the use of crude oil. "Talk about Malthus and Darwin until it sinks into the stupid people's brains until they get it!!" Lee rants, adding, "Saving the Planet means saving what's left of the non-human Wildlife by decreasing the Human population. That means stopping the human race from breeding any more disgusting human babies!" which he also labels "parasitic human infants". "Humans are the most destructive, filthy, pollutive creatures around and are wrecking what's left of the planet with their false morals and breeding culture," he adds. Lee's entire manifesto reads like a clone of the more sophisticated but no less shocking rhetoric we've been hearing from top environmentalists for years.
damn I was meaning to post this news up earlier. It caught my attention sharply. Reminded me of something you'd see in a movie. infact, you'll probably see a movie about the ordeal on TV.
Another enviromentalist tree hugging wack job pushing for infertility and sterilization in the world. Well, good riddance. Apparently the guy praises Al Gore in his Manfiesto for Inconvenient Truth, I'm sure that nut job Glen Beck cant wait to hang this one on liberal's neck. LoL Feels like another Virginia Tech
on a side note, this just reinforces the idea that it's pretty easy to assemble a bomb with a little research and the internet. the guy sounded like he didnt have any formalized training, and just read literature about the subject and jimmy-rigged a jihad schoolbag.
