Personaly I don't think anger, aggression are un-feminine traits, I consider them gender-neutral. We all get angry or agressive sometimes. And in nature (including human nature) where do all those hell-bent crazy-mothers get the heart to attack a dangerous adversary when she perceives a threat to her children? I think I know why the myth that femininity and violence or aggression are strangers come from though, it's because us males use aggression in our dealings with eachother alot more, whereas females use aggression in their dealings with the world in general when necessary, competeing males will often openly fight, competing females tend to be slyer, more political. What are your thoughts?
I think it has a lot to do with hormones. Testosterone increases aggressive behaviors and much higher levels of it are found in men. And historically men have been the hunter gatherers while women nurtured the family. So to me it's a mix of both nature and nurture. When women want to hurt someone, they're usually more sly about it, but men often use brute force, which testosterone could be blamed for. However, I think women can be just as nasty sometimes, but not often as physically aggressive or to the extremes that men can be. As a rule anyway, not always as there are always exceptions.
Yep, I agree with you Swanrider - although Iffey's wifey has a point about testosterone, I get more angry and aggressive with PMT (which is completely different hormones flooding your system), so it can't be that simple.
