I gotta say, I just love Seal.

 

Yeah, i admire the guy for doing what a lot of men (albeit white men) would not do. You know had Heidi had a black man's child and later broken up with him, no white man would take her and the child, let alone treat the kids nicely like his own.

 

You need to check yourself with your statements, okay? I can give you names of women in my country who have had kids by black men, have split up and then married white men who treat the children like their own. :evil:

But unless you're being in denial, you know that i am 90% correct on that. Especially here in the United States. Believe anything you want but most of the guys (and probably some women) on this site would tell you similar things, if not the same. I have read similar stories on this board. I have even seen it with my own eyes.

 

No disrespect intended but it always seems like it's only black men that do things like that when it's been a MAN THING throughout history :!: It's nice to see the other side for a change meaning that alot of black men are very involved with their own children as well as other people's too. :wink:

 

There are more the a few white guys that will not even look a white lady after she has been with a black man in the US. I think we all know that it's never all but it's more the norm here.
Most of it is just a way to send a message to women who may be on fence about leaving the tribe for another.

I think any person that can love and care for kids that aren't their “own” are “keepers”. 8)

 

I've heard this BS before about brothas, and I know for sure it's nothing but pure BS, because I recall dozen of times seeing black men who fit the urban and suburban class, walking around with toddlers out in malls, catching the bus while holding their kids of their shoulders or holding hands with them as they walk them somewhere, and even in barber shops, I've seen single young black men with their kids, and from the looks of most of it, the kids are in good hands, because I have never, ever, ever seen these men fight with and hit their kids in PUBLIC like I have seen black women do over and over again. They KNOW how to raise and discipline their kids, let alone get them to listen to what they tell them to.

I have even seen black men with black women they are dating or married to doing this before. More often than not, the men are left with the kids than the women, because the woman wants to go off and do something without the children. I guess it's that matriarchy stuff that flaminghetero was telling us about.

I think sometimes people forget that when you love a person you love those around them. Those they love become your loved ones. Their kids, their parents and their friends.

Seal did what ordinary men and women do everyday. I think it's great but let's don't canonize him for doing something so normal. I don't think he thinks he did anything that didn't come natural.

 

Kind of remind me of that line in the first Godfather movie, when the Godfather asked his grandson "do you spend time with your family, because a man who does not spend time with his family can never be real man". Hats off to you Mr. Seal.
