"All Jamaicans are womanisers"

I am being advised by a work colleague (Kenyan/American in origin) to be careful re my new man because "all Jamaicans are womanisers"

How many similar sorts of charming stereotypes have people come across?

And has anyone found that they have a basis in truth at all?

I have one name for your list and he is really bad but I wouldn't know that that would mean all Jamaicans.

You said the word stereotype and "all jamaicans are womanizers" is just that. There are some jamaicans at this site, I don't think they want to be stereotyped in any way.

 

You forgot to mention hot sauce and watermelons.

Those are not stereotypes- they are things Jamaicans are FAMOUS for. Just like alleging all Brazilians love soccer. Obviously not all Brazilians love soccer, but if you saw a Brazilian walking down the streets, odds of him loving soccer would be at about 90%. The same could be said about Jamaicans (or blk men in general) and womenizng.

Face it....womenizing is essentially a "nigga's nature".

I wouldn't call then "womanizers", I'd say that the ones that I've known were extremely territorial though.

Lol. Me and the ghanaman broke up in 2006. I've had a year relationship with a Brazilian and a year relationship with a Nigerian since that!

And I'm not going to tell the site why we broke up - that's private.

 

I dunno...I think there are some white American male politicians that could challenge that..LOL (Spitzer, Clinton, Ensign etc.)

 

Womanizing is a stereotype of men in general. And almost all straight men do it to some degree, even if it's simple objectification all the way up to straight up pimpin'.

It's the nature of the penis. It's also rather encouraged among men in general. Not to say, of course, that all men are dogs...but I've had quite a few straight up tell me that they believe it. lol

 

It is...men have the desire to spread their seed...interestingly enough I saw a study a while back that said that the deeper your voice, the more kids you are likely to father..LOL

I think that while men may "cheat" more, women are much better at cheating and are usually less sloppy about it...why else do dudes always get caught...not so much that men cheat so much more but that ladies do it better and usually feel more justified when doing so.
