Urine-Powered Generator Showcased in Lagos, Nigeria​

Alternative resources of energy are always interesting. Wind, solar, hydrogen, clean coal, natural gas, methane...all of which are being experiments for the future. However, in a little known continent called Africa, four African girls from Lagos, Nigeria has submitted a generator in an international technology exhibition that runs solely on urine.

And yes, I do mean the contents in which you shoot from your bladder in order to cleanse away any excess fluids.

The way how it works are as follows:

• Urine is put into an electrolytic cell, which separates out the hydrogen.
• The hydrogen goes into a water filter for purification, which then gets pushed into the gas cylinder.
• The gas cylinder pushes hydrogen into a cylinder of liquid borax, which is used to remove the moisture from the hydrogen gas.
• This purified hydrogen gas is pushed into the generator.

If these four young pee-entrepreneurs can find the right investors for their course of action, Nigeria could very well take advantage of the product and capitalize it on it's own merit, we could see a new form of renewable energy being poured into generators and toiletries can be connected into the centralized facilities.

And so...you all shall be free...to pee!
