good thing I didn't go with my ex to russia when she asked me, but if im not mistaken in russia , if your not russian your automatically considered their version of "black", whether your indian, african american, checynan, asian etc.

Can you properly explain what makes a black american different to
a black african from africa (by the exception of the language and culture).

It is very disappointing to read these kind of statements from my fellow

It was a lame attempt at (black?) humor. As Tink stated, the statement about westerners not being targeted was quoted directly from the article (I am assuming everyone commenting here took the time to read it).

I was saying that if I were in Russia, as a black, would try to make it quite obvious that I was a westerner, and as Moskvichka said, it probably wouldn't matter.

Not to pick a fight or anything...I am just interested in some clarity here...wouldnt one's language and culture represent some portion of one's identity??? I think it is sort of make believe to think that a 9th or 10th generation American of african descent is no way shape of form different from a subsahara pygmy or wherever they live...I get what you are saying that we share alot of genetic make up...but you have to agree there exists some difference...I think you stated it yourself, the culture are completely different...

another note, I understand Sir Nose comment about displaying one's American nationality...even though he buckled down after sensing some raised eyebrows...ahah...I cant say for sure, but I am willing to bet there would be more thought process involved when attacking a known American citizen...It may not deter them in the end but I have to believe they would think for a split second this is an American...not that Americans are special, but it is more likely to get broadcasted...now if they was doing it for attention they might seek out Americans...but if they just wanted to fuckk up some black folk I would have to believe they would rather fukk up someone that wouldnt bring much attention or extra law investigation...like a refugee or something...
