Admitting your attraction/preference

in what situation would you have to "admit" anything ? and to who ?
in my experience it's usually the younger generation that likes to ask what kind of women do you like?
one time this happened to me at work , i chose not to participate.....they tried making fun of me saying i'm probably gay or something.
the people that do this are looking for trouble,a chance to judge you or are pro-race believers and trying to see which side your on.
But i live my life privately ,it's none of their business who i date .it's not up for discussion .

I would like to think this is true. However, I'm 54 and I've been single for a bit and I have had more men ask me than I care to count. Along with the "you don't look like a woman who would date black men" (from black men). And I live in California. It's an older generation thing too.

Maybe I should have gotten the uniform, tat, and hair cut.

 

Often people ask what your type is or what kind of man/woman you like because they are looking to see if they fit your type. It's an insecurity thing.

I've also been asked it from men who aren't into dating women who haven't been with black men and may not understand some of the things they may encounter. Others may not want to be an experiment or novelty too.

it may not be an insecurity issue and this comment isn’t directed at you in particular but we as black men are not all the same socio-economically or in the way we behave and look.

the reason i mention the younger generation is they like to have open race discussions "white women this ,black women that ,latinas is ,asians do that"
it's so rude and ignorant .In my younger years I've also been around "lets talk shit about white women" discussions ......"they have flat butts ,they can't dance" ....i usually smiled and kept quiet during this.
in my opinion,the black men who would say " you don't look like a woman who would date black men" have a strong view on how blacks should look and act and how whites should look and act. They stereotype people and are stereotypes themselves . And they are comfortable being a stereotype.

so i was listening to some g-unit the other day . and the first comment on there is "white women bashing ". comment reads "Music was better when rappers were making love to black women now it just sounds like they’re fucking mayonnaise" comment was left by a black woman ..... now does it have to be this way?

That’s kinda funny considering rap as a whole has had a history of objectifying & demeaning women since the days of Too $hort. I’m a big hip hop head but that was a shitty analogy. Especially when talking about G-Unit, lol.

 

Why be concerned about some bitter hoe in the comments. Maybe those women aren't inspiring their men to write songs about them like the women of old.

 

Rappers only write about the women they saw and dealt with growing up.

Why should we feel that bm/ww relationship should be a one size fits all? That`s certainly not the case with relationships within the same race. For example, two people of the same race may have different political views but they are still together though that may be awkward in today`s political climate. Lol
