He was a talented human being who keeps your interest whether he was in a main or character role. It is just disheartening that he was gone too soon.

I remember Philip Seymour Hoffman from Twister, Boogey Nights, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Red Dragon, Mission:Impossible 3 and Capote(loved him in the role). He was a very good and versatile actor who could play a role with sincerity and courage. May he Rest In Peace.

There are some drugs people should avoid experimenting with because the possible addiction rarely lets the user go...until it destroys their life.

Crystal meth. NO. Just not worth the life headache or the constant psychosis.
Crack cocaine. NO. Similar to meth but the high is shorter and the same fucked up downward life spiral.

Both these drugs can 'trip' your heart at any time with a heart attack.

    Heroin. NO. Two times.

No one just tries heroin. There's a thought process involved and usually it's the wrong one. Either someone you know sells you on the euphoric qualities of the high, or you've read about the experiences of others who took the drug.

The danger with the this drug is both its physical and psychological addiction. Addicts physically need this drug to keep from being ill.

Even still, I think most heroin users would have less issues from snorting it instead of injecting. You should NEVER shoot up a drug.

I don't know anyone who walked away from casually shooting heroin. Once you start down that path, you're going to be an addict.

I feel really bad that Philip got caught up in that dope cycle. Once he started using heroin, it really never left him no matter how hard he tried to kick it.

What's dangerous about ALL drugs, including beer and marijuana, is that everyone's biochemistry is different and some drugs just agree with them more than others.
Plenty of folks try all kinds of shit, but for some reason or other they just didn't like it. Which is a minor blessing.

There are people who believe all psychotropic drugs can be used responsibly with proper instruction. I don't believe that.
Everyone I know who used heroin or coke eventually HAD TO quit because it was fucking up their lives.

Seymour Hoffman's story is so sad on many different levels.
At least he left us with his films. I'm sure that's not nearly adequate for his wife and kids.

    RIP PSH.

Never know when your time is up indeed. Granted some high risk situations like drug use makes it more likely. Its amazing what addiction can unleash in a person.

I remember Phillip Seymour Hoffman from Along Came Polly with Ben Affleck and Jennifer Aniston.

I liked him in the movie where he asked Tom Cruise his name when Cruise had captured him. Maan that man had ice in his veins and was a true thespian. RIP

Mission: Impossible 3. PSH was at his malevolent best in that role.

]New York cops have just made 4 ARRESTS in connection with Philip Seymour Hoffman's death … Law enforcement sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ.

Our sources tell us … police have obtained a search warrant and are currently on scene at a NY apt. We're told police are targeting two individuals who they believe sold PSH heroin. Sources say cops raided 3 units in the same building.

Sources also tell us … someone involved in the heroin market in NYC contacted police and gave them the names and addresses of two alleged drug dealers who pushed the drug.

We're told the heroin user told cops he buys from the same dealer Hoffman frequented and sometimes saw Hoffman in the dealer's apartment. The informant says Hoffman would buy "bundles" of heroin at a time ... twice a week.

Sources say the informant told cops ... the alleged dealer -- a musician for a famous rapper -- would sometimes run out of his supply and use a secondary dealer, who sold "cheap s**t heroin" that was dangerous. And the informant says ... Hoffman would get the secondary supply.

Four suspects are now in custody. Law enforcement tells us all 4 were arrested for drugs found in the apartment units.
