It absolutely does - and they are adept at using dog whistles - in other words, phrases which sound only to the intended audience. "Welfare queen" is dog whistle for lazy black women who have 97 kids just for money, and sleep around.

They are racist, homophobic, misogynistic douchebags. Yes, some of them are women. Some of them are black (not many, I suspect). That does not mean the movement as a whole isn't racist or sexist. Hell, the "Log Cabin Republicans" are a group of gay Republicans - and we all know the Republican party has worked hard to block things like gay marriage and the repeal of DADT. It's entirely possible to associate with a racist political movement and be a person of color. I highly suspect, however, that the vast majority of black people involved with the Tea Party are of a wealthier class, who like the "no taxes" thing they now have going on. I don't think a lot of working class black people are pro Tea Party.

 

Or having "ghetto fantasies" of one day being in that wealthy class bracket.

 

I can't imagine any other reason that a middle or working class person would be attracted to their message.

 

What's sad is if they didn't have such an anti minority ferver and didn't come across as down right crazy they could have been the unifying movement that would have mobilized the poor and middle class. I agree with a lot of their arguments about being over taxed and tax money being mismanaged but when they start fighting on behalf of the corporations and so called job creators who outsource at an ever increasing rate they lose me.

 

The code words are indeed the dog whistles like "Law & Order","Bloc Vote",and many others. Now Mr.Cain said the Blacks are "brainwashed" because they voted Democratic. He is one genuine 'House Slave'.

 

They're no different in 2011 than they were back in 1851.
