Eating veggies vs meat is not necessarily all better, its about opinion. I know many vegetarians athletes and it works great for them. I, and many others prefer to eat chicken and fish. There is no harm in that if you stay away from the fish w heavy metal risks. I buy organic chicken and fish, most of the time.

I would not really promote soy milk... its a genetically very altered grain - I LOVE soy, but I try to limit my intake due to that.
Also, it has a link to estrogen (it contains genistein and daidzein, both act like strogen) - bad for women and men in large quantities.

A good read below, its probably a good idea to not over do the intake of soy due to its genetically altered status and its link to estrogen.

If you intend to go the vegetarian route that's probably a good idea. There's a lot of good info online, but at times it's hard to separate it from the completely inaccurate stuff. You have to be really on top of it if you plan to build muscle, lose fat, and eat vegetarian. A dietitian could give you a good plan to follow.
