A serious debate: why is a male's virtue and sexual well being valued less?

No bullshit, this a grown folks discussion...

There's a pretty big list of female teachers who have sexually molested teenage (and sometimes younger) boys and at first I was reading the listings and of course getting titillated but by the 15th or 20th chick (its a loong list) it wasn't cute anymore it was just sad and sick and it became a list of a lot of fucked up women.

And thats where I started thinking if this was a list of men fucking teenage girls people would be outraged. A man has sex with a 14 year old girl and he's a predator, a woman has sex with a 14 year old boy and that kid's a lucky bastard. Even though all of the women involved were arrested and have to register as sex offenders, society doesn't look at them in the same way we look at their male counterparts.

And its not just that either...a man can be abused by a woman and no one cares really. Boys don't cry or are supposed to be tough and stoic all the time.

Believe it or not alot of men get fucked up in the head about sex and relationships and women because they had sex too early in life or with a partner who showed them too much too soon. And no one really cares or is concerned about that.

A 13 year old boy has sexual relations with a 35 year woman and we laugh it off as if theres no real damage that could be done by that.

Why is a boy's virtue not valued as much as a girl's?

Before you answer check the list and really look at whats going on there and then tell me if its still not serious?

Abbie Jane Swogger, 34:Teacher's aide at Highlands Senior High School in Harrison, Pa., was arrested Feb. 22, 2008, for renting a hotel room where police found beer, marijuana, an open condom wrapper and at least four teenage girls and boys, including several of her 15-year-old son's friends. Though categorically denying rumors she was having sex with students from the school, Swogger was quoted as saying, "I was stupid, very stupid. I already know I was and I can understand you looking at me wrong. It's the biggest mistake I ever made in my whole life." Police allege Swogger "asked or encouraged" two 15-year-old runaway girls to have sex with her. According to a police papers, Swogger admitted to having sex with a 17-year-old boy and asked police, "How serious is that?" The one-time exotic dancer resigned Feb. 25, 2008. Swogger accepted a 3- to-6-year jail term that included a 36-year probation on May 26, 2009. "I'm sorry I was not the role model I should have been. I'm really sorry," she told the judge.

Amy Beck, 33:Teacher at David Starr Jordan Middle School in Burbank, Calif., surrendered to police March 8, 2010, apparently overcome by guilt, according to authorities. She allegedly had a sexual relationship with one of her male students, who was 14 at the time, from March to September 2009. Beck was charged with five counts, including four counts of unlawful sex with a person under 16 and one count of oral copulation with a person under 16. She faces up a maximum sentence of up to seven years in state prison.

Amy McElhenney, 25:Charged with having a sexual relationship with an 18-year-old male student, the 25-year-old Hebron High School Spanish teacher and former Miss Texas contestant will not be serving any jail time after a Denton County, Texas, grand jury refused to issue an indictment in September 2006. While the age of consent in Texas is 17 years, a state law bans sexual relationships between educators and students even if the student is of legal age and the relationship is consensual. She could have faced 20 years in prison if indicted and convicted.

Amy Northcutt, 26:Former history teacher at Turlock Christian School in Turlock, Calif. was arrested on June 2, 2008, along with her husband, Justin Northcutt, 27, a substitute teacher at the same school, for sending erotic text messages to a 16-year-old female student and attempting to arrange group sex with her. Police were called in when the girl's mother became suspicious of Mr. Nothcutt's attention toward her daughter.

Of course it's just as wrong for a woman to take advantage of a young boy as it is for a man to take advantage of a young girl.

What's different in perception is that we expect men to welcome sex at anytime from almost anyone from the moment they can ejaculate until death.

We still expect women to remain "pure" and "virginal" so there's this idea that the man is "corrupting" the young woman, and the woman is "educating" the young man. Either way, it's sexually abusive, period.

Would it be immature to say as a teenager, I would have gladly had intercourse with the women pictured above. I see these women as sex offenders all the same, some of them probably taking these jobs just to have sex with youngsters.

Looking at that list, many of these are young women sleeping with minors who are not that much younger. At 16 or 17, male or female, I don't see it as abuse. It's still a conduct breach on the teachers part.

This happened when I was in high school. The teacher was sleeping with two 17 year old girls, having threesomes and all of that. A number of students knew about. I kept my mouth shut of course for a number of reasons even after I graduated. This was 15 years ago and this is probably the first time I've even mentioned since then...

Personally, I think it's still sick and disgusting whether it's a male teacher or a female teacher. Child abuse, is child abuse.

    However....

I think perhaps society sees the female teachers differently because of how male and female sexuality is viewed.
Men are seen as always having sex with no emotion involved. It's just sex, no matter what they say. They'll lie through their teeth to take advantage (I'm sure all the ladies have heard that before LOL). Hence the 'predator' label.
Whereas women are seen to always connect sex with emotion and the affair with a student is seen as her 'falling for the wrong guy'.

Neither of these is the truth of course. It's abuse, plain and simple. On top of that men often do connect sex with emotion and women often do have unemotional sex. But it's been chiseled into our brains for a long time that men are predators and women are prey. *shrugs*

I would like to think that people are starting to change their thoughts on that, but I won't hold my breath.

I agree with the OP that this society values the male virtue and sexual well-being less, as exemplified by these cases. Furthermore, if it is a white female teacher and a male student of color (which seems to happen often), his rights and well-being are even more neglected.

its not just this society...the dynamic between men and women the world over is like this.

It's definitely a double-standard. I don't have any kids but, if I had a daughter; it would probably bother me more if that happened to her, than if it happened to a son. I'm not saying it's right that's just the way it is.

I remember when I was in high school, the rumor was a female neighborhood friend was involved with the basketball coach. The coach ended up getting fired and, I remember at the time, a lot of people blamed her for it. Looking back on it; he was very much in the wrong IMO and, should have been ridiculed more.

I have to mention that the coach was a white male and, my friend a black female. It's wrong either way but, I can't imagine what would happen it it were the other way around (black male with young white girl).

I can understand the argument of women's infractions being seen as less severe but again to highlight what someone already mentioned, men are, in a sense, more sexual creatures. As men were "expected to have that lapse in judgement, both morally and physically whenffered sex, regardless of age. Do I think that men falter? Yes. Are we more guilty? No.

Your title suggests something else as well. There's an industry that caters to men's sexuality. Its called porn. Men are beyond sexually liberated because of porn.

Men are SEEN AS more sexual creatures. That's the stereotype, it isn't neccessarily true, which is why there is the double standard. That's the whole point of this. This misconception that the men prey apon the young girls for sex only and the women want love, not sex, from the young men.

It's a load of shit. To put it bluntly. Both scenarios can be true for either men or women and even then it doesn't excuse is. It's child abuse. Plain and simple, regardless of the double standard.

NYC high school teacher arrested for sex with underage student in motel: cops; Charged with rape

A city high school teacher was arrested Friday for bedding an underage student at a hot-sheets motel in Long Island, police said.

Tara Driscoll, 33, an english teacher at the Campus Magnet high school, in Cambria Heights, Queens, is accused of having the sex tryst with the unidentified student on March 19 at the Capri Motel in Lynbrook, Nassau County police said.

The boy, who is under 17 years old, was a student at Campus Magnet, but it's unclear if Driscoll taught him.

When the student's mother learned of the encounter, she alerted police, cops said.

Driscoll, who has worked as a teacher for city since 2006 and earns nearly $57,000 a year, surrendered to special victims investigators Friday morning, cops said. She was charged with rape and criminal sexual act.

Driscoll is still employed by the city, but has been reassigned out of the classroom, the city Education Department said.

All things considered the abuse of young males in the schools and in the church today is a direct reflection of an an overly sexualized society.

As one reply on this thread stated "Damn, where were those teachers when I was younger???"

Those predators where lurking around when you was younger but I would suffice to say that they did not act on those impulses due to the possibility of being ran out of town by the locals with bibles and a stake to burn them on.

Today we see more and more " people ( women ) " behaving badly within the society at large, this IMO is largely attributed to the sexual revolution of the late 60's and early 70's and the judicial system that gives the pussy pass to women over and over and over again.

    A double standard? Yes!

If a male teacher was raping our daughters, he would be thrown under the jail and the key would be tossed into the Ocean with no chance of recovery!

Just to add, and no slite to the women that post on this site or any other, with the emasculation of males that is taking place spear headed by radical feminist here in America and abroad coupled by the MRA's insisting on a marriage strike against American Women some women have became desperate in their need for male companionship!

    Sorry for rambling......!
