Thank you so much for posting this. The way the world acts you'd think every intelligent child has to be white or Asian. I could fucking cry right now. I was in the advanced classes in elementry school and quickly dropped out because I was the only black kid and the other kids picked on me. After watching shows like Encyclopedia Brown and Doogie Howser I honestly though black weren't really smart like that. Luckily I got it together but black kids NEED to see stuff like this they need to see they have options. Again great post

There don’t seem to be too many black geniuses. They do tend to be white, Chinese, or Indian. I too was glad to see smart black kids. I wonder why there are so few black geniuses that come to international attention. Is it because black people just dont produce as many as the other races? I think maybe the problem is that we are not as class conscious as other races. For example Indian people generally marry into the same class. A doctor will marry a person of similar standing. This produces smarter kids...Black people just don’t seem to be as bothered about class as other races, so in some instances, you will get a smart person marrying a not so smart person, and there results are less smart kid. Only my opinion though.

Truthfully I think it has more to do with that the majority of black people live in the third world where resources are far more scarce than it is in many Asian countries this also why we don't see many latin American geniuses either. Or it simply could be that intelligence is not something the media focuses on when it comes to blacks. Like the first black billionaire wasn't Oprah or Bob Johnson (people associated with entertainment not science or math) but by some finance guy in the 80s who died of brain cancer. The guy who invented the super soaker was a nerdy rocket scientist who no one would have guessed was black because to the media we're just entertainers and athletes.

You are one pathetic self-hating little man.

Not self hating at all. Only stating what I see. And its true if we married more into a class system we would produce more smart kids.

    Educated yes
    smart no
intelligence is restricted to the wealthy. Albert Eistein came from a very poor family where as Isaac Newton was a noble man. It's hard to determine that. I wish FG could chime in.

Look, all I am stating is if a doctor marries a doctor, the chances are you will produce a smarter kid than if a doctor marries someone of a lower social standing. Too me that seems quite obvious. And Black people just dont seem as bothered about class, as say Indians are for example.

It's not always about what you see.

Genius is a subjective term anyway.

India is a giant overcrowded garbage can filled with brown-skinned white supremacists....only a self-hater or a damn fool would want to copy that.

I know genius is subjective. My point is still valid though: that marrying into class, produces smarter kids. And its not only Indians who do it. The chinese and Japenese do it too. So it isnt really a case of self-hating, its being humble enough to recognise that other cultures may be a step ahead of us.

Sorry but I'm calling bullshit here. My family is what most would consider 'country' or 'redneck', therefore not what most people would consider marrying up for sure, and we've managed to produce some fairly intelligent people. It's not what they're born with, it's what they learn from infancy on that matters. You can instill intelligence in any child, regardless of their 'breeding', assuming there's not some type of brain damage of course. Both my parents were gifted, however my Ex was barely average in the intellect department and my children are really bright. That's because of how they were raised, and the encouragement they received early on, not something they inherited.

Im gonna call bullshit on this too. What you born with is vitally important. Everyone has limitations, so the probabilities of a child born to two cleaners reaching the same heights as say a child born to two dentist is quite low. The kids wont have the same potential. The child born into the family of dentists will have more potential. Environment can only affect intelligence so far. You cant produce miracles if there isnt much potential to start of with.

That's my point, I think all children are born with similar potential, again barring the presence of actual brain damage. I agree that you will likely find a genius raised by two dentists more often than you would find a genius raised by two cleaners, but that's not necessarily due to the potential of the child. If the parent's aren't well educated, they may be less likely to prioritize the education of their child. Two cleaners also have less financial resources and so likely don't have private school options which also emphasize academics more than public school. So I still see it as more an issue of how you raise a child, than genetics.

Thanks for piggybacking my point Espy. I said it before but he doesn't get it. I'll give more examples Thomas Edison was considered a genius but had a middle class upbringing, Benjamin Franklin came here with nothing but the clothes on his back and became one of the richest men in the colonies and our most notable inventor of that era, Leonardo Da Vinci grew up poor and became one history's most notable polymaths, George Washington Carver grew up poor and made several advances in chemistry, Where as Shakespeare grew up wealthy, Thomas Jefferson grew up wealthy as well as did Twain but then you have someone like Mark Zuckerburger who grew up in the same middle class area as me and went on to create Facebook. You can't simply equate class to genius. Class to education most definitely but not genius. I knew plenty of kids who went to top notch schools who weren't particularily brilliant they just had the tuition money to go. I knew one girl whose parents paid four years of Villanova upfront, she was no genius but according to your logic she would be considered smarter than someone like myself who went to state schools.
