It seems like the producers of this movie are totally inventing a Jackie Robinson persona that doesn't reflect reality or history.

If you've ever seen old newsreels of his being interviewed, or read stories about the man, he was an even tempered, very mild-mannered type person. He was chosen to integrate MLB specifically for that reason; Brooklyn Dodgers owner and manager Branch Rickey chose Robinson to break the color barrier in professional baseball because he believed that Robinson had the disposition to handle all the verbal and psychological abuse he'd be facing.

From the previews on TV, this version of Jackie Robinson looks like a future Black Panther!!lol

Has anyone seen the movie" The Jackie Robinson Story" starring Jackie himself? His wife was played by Ruby Dee.

I think you are missing the point the extended trailer shows that in public Jackie was well mannered and kept his cool, but in private he dealt with a heavy struggle. I think if anything they are showing the pressure and stress he had to endure to be that mild mannered guy to the public. On TV interviews
