I don't care much for Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson but one thing I'll give them is they're on a soap box pretty much 24/7. Neither of those 2 control the media. Who generally do not give a shit about Black on Black crime or Hispanic on Hispanic crime or minority on minority crime.

I've listened to Al Sharpton's radio show in the past and followed him from time to time outside of what the mainstream media reports on issues he tackles. He talks about Black on Black crime and the problems in the Black community outside of racism quite a bit.

When there's a crime where an allegation of racism is concerned and Sharpton and Jackson show up? Then the media is quick to shove cameras in their face and drop their names in media outlets. Because just like sex, racism sells. And just hearing and seeing either of their names throws white people nationwide into collective seizures and they start foaming at the mouth. Despite the fact that neither man really actually does or accomplishes anything. They sure as hell don't say anything new or different than what they've said dozens if not hundreds of times in the past. Sadly many Blacks fall for the same nonsense and exhibit the same reaction.

When these two talk about problems in the Black community that don't have much to do with racism or nothing to do with racism at all (and I'm talking more about Al then Jesse who I've never followed much), no one pays attention and the media and all the fanfare is nowhere to be found.

    Yes, that was it.

I also remember in 2009, the national MEDIA reported on and staked out Chicago South's Side for over a week to highlight the brutal beating murder of innocent student teenager Derrion Albert, at the hands of 4 young men, which was partially captured on tape. He happened upon their fight and was set upon.

As a result of this story covered nationally by the MEDIA, President Obama sent U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and Secretary of Education Arne Duncan to Chicago to discuss the violence with then-Mayor Daley.

Too bad Al Sharton and Jesse were nowhere to be found.

What is white people's obsession with these 2 men? I see this same ridiculous comment year after year. It's going to be interesting to see who you all have to whine about after these 2 are dead and gone.

    It's called SARCASM.

I was talking to you, so thank you for responding. ;)

No one give two shits about them. They're the equivalent of Kim Kardashian. People love to clown them.

Exactly. Which is why I'm still trying to figure out why white people across the country freak out at the mere mention of their names.

White people freak out? Over them two?? :D lol. You must live a sheltered life. The best part is the comments section. Especially on the Black blogs. LOL, some of the things they say about them both would have you rolling. You do know how to laugh, right? Ok, ok, maybe in your case...crying.

What i love about the international media is they will show this on their domestic network but portray the country as heaven on their international networks. When i tell folk in my country that America is not all about what they see in hollywood and MTV and that some places in America are terrible, they tell me to STFU and stop discouraging from going to America to meet Jay-Z and Beyonce.

Most of this country is what you see on TV. The people who choose to run in gangs, get killed and end up on the news do not represent the overwhelmingly amount of law abiding citizens in the US.

I don't feel bad for these people if the officials are correct and they truly are gang members. They got what they bargained for.

I feel bad for those people man. I really do. If they come out here, they better get a tour guide. It's big big country and only a couple places are what they show on tv.

I totally disagree with you Hollywood and MTV doesn't represent America at all unless you are telling me most of America look like Matthew Mccounaghay and Scarlett Johansson and boy meets girl and they live happily ever after or living with the kardashians or whatever they call it is normal or teen mom or pregnant teens are glorified in America. When it comes to CNN international Anderson Cooper or Wolf Blitzer wont report this on the international network. People who haven't lived in America think the streets are paved with Gold.

Just like they portray you many times running around in thongs and living in grass huts. Unless you watch documentaries or other responsible shows.

What shows are you watching?? Take it up a notch. Stay classy.
