18 y/o man traveled from Ohio to China to meet girl, gets curved

lovesick American teenager almost died after getting drunk and nearly drowning in a river when he was dumped by a young Chinese woman he flew 7000 miles to visit.

The 18-year-old, who was only named by his surname Pratt in Chinese media, had travelled from his home state of Ohio across to Jiangshan, a city in Zhejiang province in China, after becoming infatuated with a young woman he had met online.

But after getting the cold shoulder from his online ladylove when he turned up, he started drinking and was found suffering from hypothermia and unconscious on the staircase leading down into the Xu River.
A spokesman from the Cheng Bei Police Station quoted on Qianjiang TV said: 'He was unconscious and lying in a pool of his own vomit. It looks as if he might have fallen in the water at some stage as his clothes and shoes were soaked. To be honest he was so inebriated, he could easily have drowned. It was only a short distance to the water.

I remember developing an attraction to Asian women at an early age(thanks in part to the Godzilla movies). My friends laughed at me. They told me that I have to go far to do that. If this young man hooked up with a company like A Foreign Affair and attended a social where he could meet more than one woman in a safe atmosphere, he wouldn't be in the shape he is in now. I'm surprised he didn't get himself killed over there. Young love hurts real bad.

 

My high school was a magnet for asians....there was never a shortage of friends or whatever for people looking to mingle like that

Diversity is awesome (everyone should have to chance to experience each other) and I couldn't imagine it any other way

I have met a lot of Asians over the years. Be they from China, Japan, Korea, The Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. I met a lot of them in college. I have even met a few Germans, Latino/Hispanic, French, French Canadian, Dutch, the list goes on. The first time I met a woman from Russia was in 1984, she had the face of an angel and was as big as a bear. Her family emigrated to the U.S. and her father was still afraid that the KGB would pay them a visit in the early morning hours even in this country. I didn't think it was possible to date or even marry a woman from Eastern Europe. But it is if you are either wealthy or military(military seems more favorable). And looks don't hurt, either. I think that these men who visit Eastern Europe to find a wife believe that western women are not as sincere as the women in these and other countries. These men have other agendas than marriage like arm candy status(builds up his ego), male dominance, children because he is usually a couple of decades older(older men are favored for their experiences and worldview) and wants to have another family with another woman(if he is divorced and has older children not living in the home). I'm not sure if I would want to visit Russia/Ukraine now. The women are smart and beautiful but, even if things were great with the correspondence, Skype/cam chats and phone calls, I guess if she was really sincere, she would have to be the one who makes the journey on her own to see me. Or at least meet me half way.

If I met a Chinese girl as a student attending school in the U.S. and we had some kind of love connection, if she BEGGED me I might let the thought of visiting her in China pass through my head, before I said HELL NO.

Living in the DMV I see so many Asians daily it would be weird to wake up and not see any, so it's bizarre to me the only Asian chick he could connect with was living in China.lololol
