Was blindsided when I first saw that Hart of Dixie show showing interracial couples depicting a progressive south

 

Ally McBeal also dated Jesse L. Martin on the show. He also played a detective on the original Law & Order and is the dad on The Flash.

 

I'm finally taking the time to watch the 7th episode of the short-lived ABC Period Drama "Pan Am", where Margot Robbie's character has a fling with Gaius Charles (The dude who played Smash on "Friday Night Lights" the TV show). The show aired back in the 2011-2012 TV season.

I don't think she's seeking IR onscreen relationships. But she doesn't shy away from them either. For one reason or another she has ended up being in three (possibly four depending on SS) projects in which such a pairing occurred. Two of them were the result of casting decisions which she lucked out of after original actresses left the projects (Z for Zachariah, Focus). The only one in which she was involved in in which an IR was specifically written for the story was the TV show Pan Am and even then it wasn't as if she knew that plotline would be one her character would enter into down the road when she auditioned for the part.

 

My same take on that show when I was watching it. A nice fantasy.
