It's sad to even think that WWBM issues would go that far but barking up webbies tree just seems like a fruitless path. He has no real authority over any of us. He's very much the middle man in a case of forum members harassing/being harassed.

 

Right. I mean, if you're willing to cross the line and actually threaten someone, getting banned from the thread isn't going to be much of a disincentive.

 

And this is where reality comes into play. Restriction, banning, rep points retraction...means nothing. He hasn't responded to emails, maybe because he has no information to provide or the requesting parties need to follow a different chain of command to get whatever info they want. The idea that he even owes us a response is weird to me. It'd be nice, sure, but it's certainly not owed imo.

 

Another thing is that people can log in using fake IDs and computer-generated IP addresses making it hard to track or know anything for certain.

 

He should still be banned from this site. This is where he made the initial contact. His behavior is also a violation of the forum guidelines which prohibits harassment and stalking. People have been banned for lesser things. Webbie may not have control over offline activities but he does have control over who posts here.

 

Definitely. You never know who you're dealing with and banning someone just means they come back under a different name. Doesn't actually solve anything.

 

I certainly hope nothing happens in the real world as a result of this.

I don't think it was ever really dealt with in any fashion other than the fact that it came to light that someone attempted to use personal information about someone and their activities on this site and their involved in interracial relationships to cause trouble for them offline in their work environment.

The main reason it never was dealt with is because there was more than one individual who was suspected of possibly being the culprit and had a vindictive motive to do it. Recent statements posted by a certain individual, who was long on the suspect list, have now put them in the spotlight of possibly being the guilty party from back then.

He did it before to another female forum member he didn't like. He stalked her, got her personal info through her photo extensions and made a thread on her. Webbie deleted the thread almost immediately...He should have been banned back then.
