A submissive wife is one who submits to her husband's wishes ALL the time. They don't make em like that no more unless we are talking about the sexual fetish of submissive
Well would you look at that..... Right on time http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/a...believe-female-submission-key-happy-life.html
Touche. But my parents got out of the shit but sent their kids there yearly. As an adult I appreciate that shit it keeps me very grounded but back then using lanterns for light and going to a damn well for water wasn't cute lol
You mean you had to go to a well and fetch water like what pertains in african villages? and LANTERNS for light???!! Maan i feel the pain cus i never experienced that as a child even when i visited Ghana with my parents and the first time i physically saw a well was when i returned to Ghana permanently and had to go to some funeral in a village. The shock was too much with mosquitoes and other flies and people drinking water STRAIGHT FROM THE WELL. My cousins couldnt stop laughing and called me white boy even though i am pretty dark. I can imagine the shock for an Americanised kid like you the first time you had to do that
This is the description of a highly prized wife (and one would understand that to also be a submissive wife, since God commands wives to be submissive to their husbands). She doesn't sound like a pitiful doormat to me. She submits to her husband as head of the household and in return, he respects what she brings to the table. That's the way it's supposed to work.... Epilogue: The Wife of Noble Character Proverbs 31 10 A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. 11 Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. 12 She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. 13 She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands. 14 She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar. 15 She gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her family and portions for her female servants. 16 She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard. 17 She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. 18 She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night. 19 In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers. 20 She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy. 21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet. 22 She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple. 23 Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land. 24 She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes. 25 She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. 26 She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. 27 She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. 28 Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 29 “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” 30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. 31 Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate
While I have my own struggles with organized religion (and the Bible) at times, this passage always resonated with me back when I was single and thinking about what I wanted in a woman/wife. They are all good, but #12,20,26,27 and 30 stand out to me as especially important. Well posted Ches.
The Proverbs 31 woman is the woman many God-fearing women have a love-hate relationship with. Lol. We love her because she's perfect and we aspire to be her but we hate her because she's perfect and we can't live up to her example. This is the kind of wife I long to be to the right man.
the next questions that needs to asked can a man respect and appreciate a submissive wife? can a woman recognize the type of man worthy of being submissive to?
When things are done correctly, the answer is yes (to both those questions). Simple minds may not be able to fully understand or appreciate the beauty of a submissive wife. Women need to be intelligent enough to avoid giving their all to those types of men.
This may work for some people, but it's not my cup of tea. I prefer an intellectual and social equal because I look at gender subjugation (even self-imposed) in the same way as racial subjugation. I have also found that women denied equal power in the public/overt sphere, will seek to exercise it covertly/privately, in ways that lead to the use of their "feminine wiles", guilt trips, tears, manipulation, deception, and guile to get their way, and that is a far worse environment to live in than an egalitarian, power-sharing one.
