I guess the flip side to this would be a tribute to asian rappers Hip hop has a solid footing/following in different asian countries
True. I believe there was an Asian hip hop artist who broke through over here about a decade ago. Moderately successful. He rapped in English though. Can't remember his name at the moment.

Great thread I'm all about cultural exchange I've been in and out of asian/Brazilian martial arts since I was around 12 I love it even more when the teachers require you to speak a certain amount of the native language in class

I didn't see a black martial artist who was in a few Chuck Norris films like The Delta Force and Hero And The Terror. His name was Steven James. He was also in Robert Townsend's first film Hollywood Shuffle as a tutu wearing henchman. James had died of a heart attack a few years ago.
Honorable mention to fight choregrapher and stunt arranger Jeff Ward(he appeared in Blade 2 as Blade in the scene where Nyssa asks Blade about why he hates vampires). He even trained Forest Whitaker in the film Ghost Dog: The Way Of The Samurai.
Also played "Kung Fu Joe" in the classic "I"m Gonna Git ya Sucka." And the American Ninja series.
I loved that part. A tribute to Jim Kelly, who successfully beats up a dozen cops. But, James' Kung Fu Joe wasn't so lucky. LOL
I've actually seen a guy try to take on a cop once using karate. The karate guy was in the fighting stance and the cop pulled out his gun, giving the cop an advantage and getting the drop on the karate guy. The karate guy didn't stand a chance if he did any other moves.
