As I type this the Fox view said the cop was "beaten" not mentioning the Black male being shot was left on that street for hours before he was covered up and taken to the morgue.

Rosa Clemente: "This is the picture taken by the Daily News. Talib Kweli, Jessica Care Moore and about five other people on the other side, you might see my hands up, those are some other young men as well as brother with the Peace Poets. Since apparently to some people we need evidence as our experience is not enough".

Have we learned the formula yet?

Why is the first step always to misdirect the public by discrediting the victim. Trayvon had ingredients to make purple drank. Michael Brown had pot in his system. The entire fucking state of Colorado has pot in their systems, maybe we should coordinate drone strikes on the entire state?

I will concede that Michael Brown was potentially a thug. I will concede that Michael Brown potentially confronted the cop. Don't pigs also have tasers? Aren't they trained in hand to hand combat? Don't they have batons? What is the order of operations for an officer in a situation where he is dealing with an unarmed civilian? Kill first and incapacitate later? If anything, Michael Brown should be in jail right now... not 6ft underground.

Next step is to discredit the community that supports the victim. Time and time again, I hear what essentially equates to "Black people don't care about black lives either. Why don't you people do anything about the black on black crime in your own community". Some of us... no., many of us are. The conditions that blacks are living in in America did not happen over night and they certainly will not be fixed over night. The Civil Rights Act was just signed 50 years ago, and that really just gained us the right to piss in the same urinals as everybody else and to vote for political leaders who do not have consideration for our interests anyways. Anybody who thinks blacks have equal footing in this country is living with blinders on. You take people from their continent, drop them on foreign soil and strip them of everything, including culture and dignity for two and a half centuries., then for another century they are not even allowed to share a bathroom with you. OF COURSE there is going to be confusion, unrest and turmoil in that community. For hundreds of years, as America began on it's path to glory, it kept a foot on the neck of black people. The black condition in this country took years to build, it might take a few generations but we will fix the mess that America created for us. That is assuming those people that America charges with serving and protecting us quits putting bullets in our heads.

Why is it that we hear more about the handful of looters than the hundreds (thousands?) of peaceful protesters. Why is it that we have to rely on alternative sources of news to hear about the 'other side' of what's really going on? Why is it that, in Europe when people riot for wage increase and socioeconomic equality they are seen as concerned and politically involved teenagers. In Canada, when they lose a hockey game and burn the city down.... oh what a shame, they were drunk. Yet, in America when blacks protest the imagery that mainstream media shoves down our collective throat is of looters, thus casting us as savages.

Unfortunately, what's been lost in all of this mostly due to America's underlying racial tensions as well as reprehensible and irresponsible journalism is that; though this started as and has roots as a racial issue, it's actually more than just that. There are so many things going on in Ferguson that we're distracted from, like the militarization of the police force and the way that it is used against those that it's supposed to serve and protect, or the war on the poor and middle-class, or the loss of our constitutional rights as American citizens. Ask yourself., why are peaceful protesters met with a police force with tanks and riot gear? Even the idea of a protest zone should infuriate you, I don't care what race you are. This entire country is supposed to be a 'protest zone'.

Anyways., blah blah blah., yadda yadda yadda.,.

    I digress.

    Thanks for sharing this, Loki.

More proof that rushing to judgment in cases like these is never a good thing.

It takes awhile for the story to straighten itself out.

The media, IMHO, is completely out of control in this country. In their quest to be "THE FIRST" to report on a story, they mostly get the facts wrong, and by the time the story gets straightened out, the false narrative has been repeated ad nauseum by other media outlets and the general populace and it's hard to get the real story to be believed.

    It's a scary time.
