i was sitting at a bus shelter waiting for the bus to take me to work....

while sitting on the bus shelter seat, some chick rolled up to the stop and began to smoke....

i guess i did not ask the chick nicely to put away the cigarette....inside the bus shelter there is a small sign on the top wall, saying smoking is prohibited.. i told her that i don't like inhaling cigarette smoke and asked her to leave the shelter...

unfortunately, a heated argument ensued between me and the chick....after the argument, i called the phone number on the no-smoking sign to voice the violation..

as the bus came to the stop, the chick was no longer there....

sometimes i play these situations in my mind that what if i tell a smoker not to smoke at a non-smoking bus shelter, what will happen? usually, 9 out of 10 a smoker will get pissed off being told they can't smoke and this disagreement leads into a negative outcome....

in the past, i avoided confrontations like i just described..when a peep rolls up the bus shelter and smokes, i get up from the seat and move as far as possible..

i'll think i'll go back to avoiding confrontation with smokers at non smoking bus stops....

There is a reason that sign is hanging there.

I think it's very rude to force others to inhale that shit.
If smokers think they need to fuck up their lungs, more power to them, but do it where you don't harm others.
You did the right thing in defending your health.
I would have done the same thing.

Just make sure you don't get beat down or shot, because you offended the wrong person.
Those addicts can get pretty violent if something gets between them and their beloved cigarettes.

When I took the bus, I had no choice but to tolerate a person who smoked. There were no "No Smoking" signs at any of the stops. I was more concerned with those people walking around the stops. I had a habit of watching people's hands. If they were in the open where I can see them, it was cool. If there were not, I had to watch them carefully. At some of the stops, I had to be on my guard. I've seen a lot of characters at the bus stops.
