The statement was a joke? What about the entire segment that led up to it that was in response to an article written by a black woman about how she related to the "traditional" depictions of Jesus and Santa Claus. Kelly was serious. She's trying to backtrack because she exposed herself and looks like a goddamn fool.
I was watching the program when I heard her make that ill-advised claim, I knew right then there would be backlash.....but we have to remember, that is only HER opinion..The truth be told, all we know for certain is that as a God, he is more spirit than anything else......
Jesus is neither blk or white Kelly's assertion is stupid, now she is trying to say she was joking which clearly wasn't at previous segment Also true, most church you go to Jesus is depicted as white even in Africa, which clearly shows the doing of European settlers and exploreres. They've done it methodically for obvious reason of expanding their colonization and systematic exploitation of others.
Anyone who thinks what she said is meaningless because it's only Jesus' message that matters either, doesn't understand, or is willfully ignorant of the history of Christianity and the power of religious symbols in general. Think about it, if symbols had no power, why would they have changed His likeness to look like theirs in the first place? And, conversely, why do conservative, Christian whites lose their collective shit when the prospect of a non-white Jesus is brought up? They understand that power in ways their black and brown subordinates do not. It goes like this: Jesus is white. My people are white. Therefore, my direct descendants are of Jesus and because of that, our way of doing things is by default divine. You don't want to question the divine do you, ... boy?
Ms.Kelly last Friday did her victimization act saying that her and Fox are villified. What she said is no joke.
She is playing the victim? Her and Fox News enjoy being villified because they would rather be despised for what they are than loved for what they are not. They and their audience thrive on it. No surprise at all.
Okay, but Santa Claus is W-H-I-T-E. Don't trip yall. Giving away free shit to all the little kids if they straighten up and act right?? Righteous. Santa Claus might be the greatest White man who ever lived, if he wasn't a magical elf I haven't seen since I was 5 years old.:smt114 Showing little Black kids a Black Santa is just all kinds of fucked up.:smt119
I had mentioned in a previous post about Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. Both represent generosity, gentleness, love and compassion. I once tried out to be Santa Claus. I didn't get the job because the store wanted a white guy to do the job. I wasn't bitter. I simply wanted help in the spreading of joy and good will. I had played Santa Claus out of uniform one Christmas Day. I worked at a toy store and bought some on a discount. I remember going into the children's ward and giving what I had to the few children there. I simply said, "I'm one of the 3 Kings. The other guys couldn't make it." LOL. That was a lot of fun.
My favorite depiction of jesus: I always get a laugh out of it. Plus christianity is all about forgiveness in spite of our imperfections, right? That pic is a good symbol for that. gotta love that old lady  Megan Kelly is obviously a simple-minded racist. The part of the show with her reassuring the kiddies that santa claus is white leaves no question. On the other hand, why is any black person telling their kids bullshit about mr. claus any damn way? Why not just say some cartoon character brought the presents, make it fun like that some other way? Why stick to the bullshit? Make something else up - it only has to last until they're like 5 anyway Does anyone here tell their kids about santa? Perhaps you can ggive us some insight But back to jeezus -- of course it matters whether you teach the kiddies that he's a white man or not. I mean, tho people do tend to make their gods in their image.** ... ( The buddha --born in india-- wasn't likely a fat chinese guy either, like we commonly picture him right? ) ...Why the jeezus image matters is that the image was turned into a tool of oppression. (The opposite of what christianity is supposed to be about) So better to stick close to the truth than entertain an anti-christian lie. The muslims do an even better job tho: they forbid the picture of their prophet, as beasty noted. That's wise I'm not muslim or christian btw, just sayin **(only in ancient egypt did they go against the grain, showing their gods as black-skinned when we all know the ancient egyptians mostly looked like this: )
