    So here is my take.

She along with most of western society are blissfully and purposefully ignorant about the facts of history.

They have been programmed by the repetitive viewing of the blond hair, and blue eyed images of Jesus. So much so, that even so called educated people fall for the propaganda.

It's also fueled by the fact that so many modern day people who live in Israel are white. A lot of People don't realize that most of the white people in Israel now are from Europe. The natives who lived in what is now Israel are darker skinned and resemble Arabs.

The natives that lived there were Black in ancient times.

You can't tell the average isreali from an a-rab most of the time.

I've been alive and in the Christian church a long time, and in all those years, I've never seen Jesus depicted as blonde and blue-eyed. Typically, in most churches and religious literature I've been exposed to, Jesus resembles a middle-eastern man.

Who cares what skin color Jesus is? He died for us, our sins, didn't he? Why should this matter?

It may not matter to you, but there are many people with ignorant & racist views that it matters a whole lot to specifically because they believe they are right in having their views because God created them in HIS image. If God & Jesus aren't "white" as they believe them to be, then guess what other things they believe to be truth from their POV are wrong? Human ego & conceit will not allow them to be wrong......

same here...I don't ever recall having anyone try to tell me that jesus was blonde hair and blue eyes...to be honest I always thought that god was just how we see him no matter our color

I do remember one of the first songs I learned

jesus loves the little children...all the children of the world... red and yellow...black and white...we are precious in his sight

here's the thing...when you are little you don't look at your skin and say i'm yellow or red? even white...I was cream colored and black is really brown if we are talking skin color...so I always thought that jesus was all of these colors swirled together...

The only verified picture of Jesus. The afro is a dead giveaway.

When I said "blond and blue eyed" I meant Caucasian.

This is how black people have been brainwashed with this nonsense for hundreds of years. It doesn't matter to you whether or not fairytale Jesus was white, but it sure as hell matters to the majority of white Christians.

You think most Americans would be down with a "savior" who looked like the majority of prisoners in Guantanamo Bay do? Get real.

Oh and don't hold back with the neg reps. I get a bunch of nasty anonymous comments every time that I put religion on blast. Funny that the people who claim to have "faith" are so sensitive about having their belief system challenged.

That's a far cry from what he probably looked like if he existed. This is more like it:

And I know that nobody went to a church with an image of Jesus looking like this anywhere in plain sight.

The only people in the Middle East who looked like the man depicted in your post were the Roman colonial masters.

    I love that scene!

The false depiction of his likeness in the furtherance of white supremacy and missionary colonization purposes are what render it important. As a component of Western European exploitation of the Global South, Christianity was a central tool in undermining the cultural integrity of indigenous cultures. If Christianity was such a positive, the colonizers should have tried following his example.

Hell, the Romans were darker than those Jesus pics.

I'm not brainwashed. I accepted the Lord Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Jesus is just all right with me. It doesn't matter if he is olive skinned, red, yellow, brown, black, white or pink. It is the spirit and HIS love for all of us that matters to me. Not racial politics or fairytales. It is HIS spirit. It doesn't matter to Jesus what anyone thinks he is. If you don't believe in him, believe in the work he does.

The fact that it matters to others is probably why muslims get upset when people make depictions of Muhummad. Imo, why make pictures of either of them if you do not know exactly what they looked like? It may not matter to you, but you must know by now how simple minded a lot of people are. I don't subscribe to either religion btw.
