Then you obviously feel the same about the founding of The good ole' USA.

BTW, you obviously aren't familiar with Christianity, because if you were you'd know how utterly ignorant and just plain uncalled for your comment is.

This is a thread meant to show respect for a well loved and transformative world leader. If you'd like to propagandize the half truths and out right myths of this great man's life then you need to show some class and start a separate thread.

Cosign, this Jason91 person and Dick Cheney can go get stuffed together. One man's terrorist is another mans freedom fighter. To quote another great leader taken from us too soon,

"We declare our right on this earth to be a human being, to be respected as a human being, to be given the rights of a human being in this society, on this earth, in this day, which we intend to bring into existence by any means necessary."

I think that the necklacing was not an official strategy directed by leadership, but more a function of vigilantism and local party chapters and people running amok in the chaos and horror of township violence during that period. The attacks were very horrible, but it is by no means clear that Nelson Mandela had anything to do with the attacks or reprisals.

May this great leader rest in peace.

J91,what substance are you taking? It takes a courage to forgive a race and government who did most unspeakable things to another race. 27 years is a long time. Those White conservatives in the US who supported that Apartheid government whose methods are the same of the Jim Crow South kissed butt to them and called Mandela a terrorist and worse. He did not order those necklacing insidents. Besides,if it were not for Mandela South Africa would truly be in flames.
