Conan The Barbarian (1982 Version) Khitan General: "My fear is that my sons will never understand me... Hao! Dai ye! We won again! This is good. But what is best in life?" Khitan Warrior: "The open steppe, a fleet horse, falcons at your wrist, and the wind in your hair." Khitan General: "Wrong! Conan, what is best in life?" Conan: "To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women!" Conan's Father: "Fire and wind come from the sky, from the gods of the sky, but Crom is your god. Crom, and he lives in the earth. Once giants lived in the earth, Conan, and in the darkness of chaos, they fooled Crom, and they took from him the enigma of steel. Crom was angered, and the earth shook, and fire and wind struck down these giants, and they threw their bodies into the waters. But in their rage, the gods forgot the secret of steel and left it on the battlefield, and we who found it. We are just men, not gods, not giants, just men. And the secret of steel has always carried with it a mystery. You must learn its riddle, Conan, you must learn its discipline, for no one, no one in this world can you trust, not men, not women, not beasts... This you can trust." (Points to his sword) King Osric: "There comes a time, thief, when the jewels cease to sparkle, when the gold loses its luster, when the throne room becomes a prison, and all that is left is a father's love for his child." King Osric: "What daring! What outrageousness! What insolence! What arrogance! ... I salute you." Thulsa Doom: "You broke into my house, stole my property, murdered my servants, and my PETS! And that is what grieves me the most! You killed my snake. Thorgrim is beside himself with grief! He raised that snake from the time it was born." Conan: "You killed my mother! You killed my father, you killed my people! You took my father's sword!" Thulsa Doom: "Ah. It must have been when I was younger. There was a time, boy, when I searched for steel, when steel meant more to me than gold or jewels." Conan: "The riddle... of steel?" Thulsa Doom: "Yes! You know what it is, don't you, boy? Shall I tell you? It's the least I can do. Steel isn't strong boy, flesh is stronger! Look around you. There, on the rocks; that beautiful girl. (Points to a teenaged girl on a nearby cliff) "Come to me my child... " (Doom beckons to her and the acolyte steps from the cliff, plunging to her death.) Thulsa Doom: "THAT is strength, boy! THAT is power! The strength and power of flesh! What is steel, compared to the hand that wields it? Look at the strength in your body, the desire in your heart, I gave you this! Such a waste... Contemplate this on the tree of woe. Crucify him!" Thulsa Doom: (To Conan) "My child, you have come to me, my son. For who now is your father if it is not me? I am the well spring, from which you flow. When I am gone, you will have never been. What would your world be, without me? My son." Valeria: (To Conan) "Do you know what horrors lie behind that wall? Conan: "No." Valeria: "Then you go first."
Forgot this line when I posted the other Conan the Barbarian lines: Conan: "Crom, I have never prayed to you before. I have no tongue for it. No one, not even you, will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought, or why we died. All that matters is that two stood against many. That's what's important! Valor pleases you, Crom... so grant me one request. Grant me revenge! And if you do not listen, then to HELL with you!"
The Warriors The big conclave/street gang meeting, Cyrus, the boss of all the street gang bosses speaks: Cyrus: [yelling] "Can you count, suckers? I say, the future is ours... if you can count!" (A few of the street soldiers cheer for Cyrus) Cyrus: "Now, look what we have here before us. We got the Saracens sitting next to the Jones Street Boys. We've got the Moonrunners right by the Van Cortlandt Rangers. Nobody is wasting nobody. That... is a miracle. And miracles is the way things ought to be." (More street soldiers cheering for Cyrus) Cyrus: "You're standing right now with nine delegates from 100 gangs. And there's over a hundred more. That's 20,000 hardcore members. Forty-thousand, counting affiliates, and twenty-thousand more, not organized, but ready to fight: 60,000 soldiers! Now, there ain't but 20,000 police in the whole town. Can you dig it?" Gang Members: "Yeah." Cyrus: "Can you dig it?!" Gang Members: "Yeah!" Cyrus : "CAN YOU DIG IT?!" Gang Members: "YEAH!" (Shouting and Cheering) Cyrus: "Now, here's the sum total: One gang could run this city! One gang. Nothing would move without us allowing it to happen. We could tax the crime syndicates, the police, because WE got the streets, suckers! Can you dig it?" Gang Members: "YEAH!" (Shouting and Cheering) Cyrus: "The problem in the past has been the man turning us against one another. We have been unable to see the truth, because we have fighting for ten square feet of ground, our turf, our little piece of turf. That's crap, brothers! The turf is ours by right, because it's our turn. All we have to do is keep up the general truce. We take over one borough at a time. Secure our territory... secure our turf... because it's all our turf!" Luther: "There he is! That's him! That's... the Warrior! He shot Cyrus!" Cleon: "Man, you crazy! I din't do nuthin'!" Luther: "We saw 'im!" Cropsey, The Rogue Lieutenant: "Yeah, that's him." Luther: "He's the one! He's the one! The Warriors did it!" Luther: "The Warriors did it! The Warriors did it! The Warriors did it!" Swan: (to Mercy) "Why don't you just tie a mattress to your back? You don't care where it is, do you?" Swan: "Why'd you do it? Why'd you waste Cyrus?" Luther: "No reason. I just... like doing things like that!" Luther: (clicking beer bottles together) "Waaaarrrrrriiiorsss, come out to pla-ay!"

Candyman: "The pain, I can assure you, will be exquisite. As for our deaths, there is nothing to fear. Our names will be written on a thousand walls. Our crimes told and retold by our faithful believers. We shall die together in front of their very eyes and give them something to be haunted by. Come with me and be immortal." We'll sever the degenerative bloodlines that led us to this state." Jor-El: "And who will decide which bloodlines survive, Zod?... You?" General Zod: (Holding dust in his hand talking to Superman) "Look at this. We could have rebuilt Krypton on this planet, but you chose the humans over us. I exist only to protect Krypton. That is the soul purpose for which I was born. And every action I take, no matter how violent or how cruel, is for the greater good of my people. And now, I have no people. Blade Runner Harrison Ford is Deckard (Blade Runner) who is tasked with finding and eliminating a group of synthetic humans led by Roy Batty (Rutger Hauer). Ending-- (Deckard hangs by his fingers from a girder off the side of a building. Roy stands above him watching. They are hundreds of stories above the streets. It's raining heavily and Deckard is slowly losing his grip on the edge of the beam.) Roy: Quite an experience to live in fear, isn't it? That's what it is to be a slave. (Just as Deckard's hand slips and he starts to fall to his death, Roy grabs his hand and lifts him to safety. Deckard is dropped on the roof. Wounded and exhausted he scurries backward on all fours away from Roy until his rearward movement is halted by a piece of heavy machinery. Roy calmly approaches Deckard and crouches in front of him.) Roy: I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I've watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those ... moments will be lost in time, like tears...in rain. Time to die. (Roy lowers his head... Roy remains in this position, head lowered, crouching in front of Deckard. Rain streams over his head and unmoving shoulders.) Deckard: [voiceover] I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life... anybody's life... my life. All he'd wanted was the same answers the rest of us want. Where do I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do is sit there and watch him die.
