My problem with this thread... He posted a make believe news story as factual because he couldn't even use his brain to think 35% of people with facial tattoos is outlandish....

But lets pretend IAM did know it was satirical story, so he intentional created a thread to further demonize black men by adding a pic of the black man with the bullshit title we got to do better when nobody black had anything to do with the originally article.

He then talks about how he lied and laughed at a guy who was trying to better himself in life for asking if his company was hiring instead of helping him out. From the threads about young black male celebrities to this, the writing is clearly on the wall about how he truly feels about himself.

 

It's all cyclical. It's supposed to be. Everything ebbs and flows. No one party we ever be behind the wheel but for so long. Then the other party gets a stab at it. Some of us will be happy, while the other half complains. It's the universal law of polarity.

I will say I do agree with you on the making fun of someone trying to better themselves point. I get that dude couldnt really do anything for him because of his appearance and how he approached him about a job but I dont think ridiculing someone seeking a shot at something better is a good way to treat people. I may have not read it the way he meant it.

 

I feel you on that. I've got a couple of tatts on my arms but at the same time I had given myself like 5 years to think about them before I actually got myself inked.

I was adamant about never getting any tattoos on my face, neck or hands because of potential career consequences and I felt the same way about piercings as well. Just keep it simple.

 

True but rarely do they change their approach to getting voters. For the last 30+ years the Republican approach has been exclusion xenophobia and business of people no matter how painful or unfair. Now theyre preaching inclusion and by the sound of it progression which is really big. Ive never jeard a Republican like Sarah Palin ever say we need to bri g blacks and hispanics into the fold before. Blacks and hispanics are a very conservative group of people at least the older ones. Blacks in particular never dreamed of voting Republicsn because since we had the right to the vote they seemed determined to be against us but if not for that most of us would vote Republican based on religious ideology. This could be a game changer for decades to come.w

 

Iggy and Paniro never tapped dance for validation, that was their character. Sometimes I really question y'all experience in life. I know throngs of people who are tatted up with fulfilling careers. Even people with face tats, make up isn't just for women.

Majority of people who tat they face up ain't looking for a job the legal avenue anyway.

 

#1 Never stated anything was factual. What is factual is the b.s. that gets glorified by so called entertainers, that are the actual Step and Fetch its, leads many in my community to do what this brother did to his face; which is going to directly adversely effect his chances at gainful employment. I don't need numbers to tell me what I see everyday just walking outside.

#2 I said I "had to pause so I didn't laugh...and then became sad", but of course whatever imaginary vendetta you have against me prevented you from reading what I wrote in it's entirety, so you took what you could use as cyber ammo against me.

#3 What I do feel about myself is, I come from nothing and have become something, despite my less than favorable past. And have done so while supporting myself and my children, sometimes working for a little more than minimum wage. All the while putting myself through school.

#4 My sense of being black is stronger than you can ever imagine little boy. I don't tap dance or shuck and jive for anyone. And with that being said, this WILL be the last time I even acknowledge you. What you think about me doesn't butter my toast in the morning. So continue to dislike everything I write. The mere fact that I'm not the only one that recognizes your unprovoked hatred for me is more than enough for me.

What I know is when there is a fight for jobs in a depressed economy, BM get the bad end of the stick. So I agree, why make it harder? Why get yourself covered in tats and when you may be discriminated due to company policies, whine about it? This was/is in YOUR control. Getting tatted up is a decision made that comes with employment consequences, it's not a hidden fact.
