He himself refers to himself as black because he has African heritage. So take it up with A Rod.

And what exactly is "looking black"?

I could tell he has black ancestry but at the same time this didn't need to be a thread, some of ya'll are hypocrites. Whenever a chick who is even 1/4th black is posted on here you guys throw a fit.

That's not my point, my point is why should a persons face determine their race...

I think we are using more than his face. straight hair, tan skin,

To answer your question, phenotypes are often the best way to determine what race someone is for those of us who don't have dna related systems.

If by systems, you mean computers models? Those can not determine "race". The algorithms are programmed to delineate differences between populations that have already been socially inscribed. The best, most accurate groupings of DNA populations for some of these computer models supposedly spit out 14 or 15 different types, yet we have 3, 4 or 5 so called races we go by. The scientist, especially for commercial DNA test purposes, conform the results to that limited spectrum of 3 or 4 races. Not to say, those test are not reasonably accurate in giving you a 500 or so year picture of broad ethnic clusters (Haplogrops are another story), but to be clear: there is no scientific evidence for race, lest anyone think these computer models say otherwise.

My point is most people do not have a computer and A. Rod's dna to compare with some of the residents of africa.

Man, nobody considers this dude to be black. Not the general public, not the sports fans, not the media, not the women he dates, not the high end call girls that he got busted using (who worked for escort agencies that refuse black clients), NOBODY.

I have to agree with that. You think Jessica Biel,Adriana Lima, etc would be going out with him if they considered him black?

exactly. If you want to call him a person of color fine I guess but he is no way shape or form considered "black" in the traditional sense.

What if I found out I have strong Jewish roots (ethnically not religiously). Does my dark ass get to go around calling myself Jewish without raising every eyebrow in Israel. Motherfuckas please, lets be real now.
