My Man, you summed everything up beautifully.

The U.S. CREATED the Afghan rebels when we were their allies back in the 80's when they were invaded by Russia. The Russian officers had called those people "cave dwellers", they figured everything would be over in 3 MONTHS, tops. EIGHT YEARS later, Russia went home with their tail between their legs waving a white flag.

The same with Saddam Hussein. Iran had kidnapped Americans back in the late 70's. They were held for 444 days before being released. The Americans had backed the Shah of Iran but he was killed and replaced by the Ayatollah Humainni who despised the Americans. The Americans no longer had any influence in Iran so they helped build up Saddam to stabilize the middle east.

Saddam and Osama are prime examples of what the CIA refers to as BLOW BACK, you build a person up and when he becomes strong, he turns on you. Using the same weapons and tactics you taught him AGAINST you.

Back to the subject, this is why I would not want women on the front lines. You are NOT going up against some raghead farmer who just points an AK47 and shoot as many people believe. Like you stated, they have repelled some of our BEST forces, Deltas, Seals, Rangers, etc.

AHHHH...is that why the coalition bodycount gets as high as it does...

might explain why we needed that initial surge of manpower a few years back too

damn farmers shooting from the hip :smt106

back to the initial topic, if women can pass muster at Benning and is gritty enough to contribute to an infantry squad, let her have it. i just don't want any standards dumb-down or 'modified' from what current infantrymen had to measure up to. they're already a proud bunch..and rightfully so.

if the pentagon does decide to drop the standard because NO women are passing through..then let those mothafuckas serve in their own special squad.:p

let the boys continue to play with others that can carry the rock with the best of em.

PS....i again recommend anyone with questions on the 'physicality' of combat, to watch that video I linked a few pages back. these guys had to slog up a defended, snow covered hill with lots of gear. others were seen dragging bodies around out of fire.

no more 'point and shoot is all there is' comments

because you make posts like these

    sheesh

plus i remember the whole reporting of a thread title, because it was something like 'amy crackhouse dies'

it's a known fact that she did lots of nose candy and was pretty nasty..but the thread title got reported and changed regardless

I don't always post that I've reported something. Plain and simple.

Carry on with your woman bashing, boys.

    women bashing?

stating the obvious is women bashing?

    :smt103

you expect us to blindly cheer on such decisions to integrate infantry, given the notorious history of the armed forces catering to women so they could proudly serve in significant numbers?

    It's not stating the obvious.

They clearly said that women would be held to the same standards. If they could meet those standards, they could fight. I don't know how that got all of your dicks in a twist.

    damn...

you mean after all this trouble, women STILL won't be able to use their infantry/ranger/SF background to advance their careers?

you mean to tell me that men will STILL be the only ones tabbed, patched, ribboned and shined
well damn, lower the standards already, it's not fair!!!!!!:smt081

the only way you're going to see 20...30 percent of women as 11b/infantry officer, is if you make it easier like they did with basic/rotc standards

until then...this shit is really irrelevant

not even sure why i got so worked up over it

the long-term goal for career female soldiers to use a combat MOS as a way to gain promotion and recognition, is still a helluva long way out. for every 1 female infantry officer, you're going to have like hundreds of male officers vying over the same position

she better be helluva fucking good

I thought you wre a feminist. Whats with the gendered based insult? Hes alllowed to his opinion right? At this point we can all talk shit but bottom line is we will have to wait a d see. I honestly believe one woman will make it but the problem is when it happens it most likely wont be advertised the way women want.
