It was a one time thing that happened years ago, sounds like he was curious and experimented sexually. No big deal, a lot of people do that.

He also may have been trying out the waters to see how you all would react if he did come out. If you all reacted like you've reacted here, then I'm not surprised that he would try and pass it off as a one time thing.

Either way, you need to lose the judgment and accept your friend for who he is.

Getting mani and pedi's does not make one gay

As someone who had a best friend come out to me when we turned 21 after knowing each other since the age if 2, I can say that it did not and has not changed the dynamic of our friendship. Shes still the same girl I grew up with, but is now able to live an open and fulfilling life with her friends and family, as well as giving me a new wonderful friend when she found her now partner of 14 years.
