I been away from the site for a while working on my filmmaking career. I made a film about the topic that has defined my life and perhaps most of our lives here, interracial dating. Here's the link to the trailer.

The film will debut at several film festivals next year and the people at Orlando Film Fest already want the film to headline their film festival next year. I am very excited to see people's reactions to it. The story goes to some pretty dark places. Thanks and appreciate any thoughts and comments!

Looks pretty good and like a great conversation starter, not to mention quite bold! You may need to head for the hills after the release lol

But really, it's cool to see someone putting such a topic at the forefront and put the issues out there. Good luck man!

Looks like a pile of shit that's meant to increase social division rather than understanding.

This posts sums up the video perfectly. Shame on me for actually having high hopes knowing it was coming from this poster.

Gotta cosign this. Dude I was so down with the concept but you played up ever damn stereotype in the book regarding interracial relationships between bm and ww. It would be cool to just have a story about us that exhibited some damn normalcy. Check out shows in Canada and the UK to get the point. I applaud your efforts and will support the film with my dollars because I do like what you're trying to do but epic fail my friend.

It's unfortunate that you will have people who can not/will not differentiate between your lead-in trailer and the ACTUAL movie. Many fictional MOVIES push the social edge all the time, particularly Indie films.
Singleton, Lee, Tarantino..they all started out bucking the system and went dark and controversial...
no safe or boring with them.

However what makes this movie more interesting is that you had said this movie is loosely based on your life -

Keep doing your thing, Playboy. :smt023

You've mixed your film up with IR movies from the past. Why???

I also think that the trailer is a liitle too long...should be about 3 mins.

Also, what are the names of the actresses????

Can you give me the name of the epic trailer music?

Kid Rasta, the entire main cast is listed at the very end. The actresses are all newcomers and unknowns. Our main actor Ben Forest was on Boardwalk Empire and is mostly a comedic actor. The actresses are Juliana Martinez, Anna Lakomy, Anna Fikhman, Alexandra Bailey, Emma Wisniewski, Yana Milanberg, Khalima Gaston, and Teonna Wesley.

And I didn't mix up my film with other IR films. The opening half of the trailer had a few purposes, testimonials of real IR couples talking about their experiences and opinions on the subject, a movie review from Spill.com about how He's Just Not That Into You is basically "all white people all the time" and how we need more movies with IR. Then once the REAL trailer starts the text on screen says "Every generation there comes a film that measures the distance between black and white" and we show a clip from those films (Guess Whose Coming to Dinner, Jungle Fever, Save the Last Dance) just to remind the audience of the most memorable IR films of recent times. I could have just flashed those titles on screen but i felt it would be more powerful to show clips over the music. The character saying "your obsession with white women is getting pretty disturbing" and "everyone knows you just wanna be white" is from my movie. Also the female saying "he broke my jaw, my rib" is also from our film.

Majestic Saint, the music is from the Inception trailer.

I look forward to the DVD release. A brother had to do it himself or a WW herself to get a good story of IR on the screen.

    Umm, where is your film?

Edit: Ahhh, you said next year. But dude, your "trailer" is an amalgamation of nonsense. I don't even know what the fuck is going on, what's YOUR movie, what is pieced together scenes from other movies, music that was lifted from Inception....the music doesn't even fit anything in the trailer. A 3 minute trailer that has 4 lines of dialogue?

It's a teaser trailer, meant to garner interest in the overall subject matter. the film itself is still being edited and won't be fully ready until next year. once that version is locked down (we still have some major sound mix issues as well as visual effects that need to be added) we will cut together a full trailer that focuses on the actual story of the film. this is more of a visual "sizzle reel" as we say in the industry. so far the reaction I have been getting is VERY positive. Harlem has a film festival next May 2013 and have already shown interest and in October 2013 we will take it to Orlando Film Fest, who have also shown much interest. I expect controversial opinions since this is afterall controversial subject matter...

The clips from Guess Whose Coming to Dinner, Jungle Fever, and Save the Last Dance are not scenes or a part of my movie at all. They are just quick reminders of the audience of IR films from the past. Pay attention to the words on the screen. It says "Every generation there comes a film that measures the distance, between black and white"....meaning every generation there is a movie that speaks on the state of interracial dating and where it is at during that moment in time. It's like a movie trailer for a new Spielberg film and during the trailer the words on screen say "From the director who brought you Schindler's List, Jurassic Park, and Saving Private Ryan" then they show little brief visual moments from those films. Thats what I did here.

Also, the testimonials from the opening minute or so arent in my film either. they are just there to set the mood about how real people feel about IR dating today. this isnt a documentary, its a real FILM with actors portraying characters. MY FILM's footage starts half way through once you see the guy and girl kissing and then the music really picks up during the second half. It's pretty clear and easy to understand IMO...

It's funny, no one outside of this board was confused by this at all.

...also, there is little dialogue because of two reasons: this is a TEASER and 1) i dont want anyone to know too much of the story yet and 2) alot of the film still needs to be sound mixed so alot of the dialogue isnt at its best yet. a FULL TRAILER (which will be ready sometime in December or January) will have more scenes from my film, much more dialogue, and a full grasp of the story, no testimonials, and no clips from other movies.

Hahahaha. That line made me laugh.

Seriously though, that shit is fucking confusing. I don't 'get' it.

I have to say, I agree. This "teaser" does nothing to pique my interest. It's confusing and, dare I say, boring. It just makes me want to turn the trailer off and go find something more interesting (which is what I did...I didn't even bother to watch the whole thing).
