Hitman Reborn was a hidden gem for me.

First ten or so episodes seemed a little silly but I don't know if they changed writers or just found some steam, but the story just picked up like crazy and a few hundred episodes later I found myself looking at one of the best animes with character development I've seen yet.

    Worth checking out!

Did you see the gantz movies? The first one was pretty good. It was fun to compare the movie to the show which was very sad.
It is just sad that there is not another season. I loved every bit of it.

Yeah, I liked the movies. Of course, you would have to have a ridiculously retardedly large budget to make Gantz just like the manga, but they did a pretty good job. I would love to see the anime completed, but outside of the main Shonen Jump franchises(Naruto, Bleach, etc.), no anime will ever complete its series.

I heard of the Japanese comic genre and find it strange since it is popular because is people wanted to be White. In some Amime comic the aisan features belong to other nationalities of Asia like Korean or Chinese.

Everyone assumes this, mainly Americans but they need to get something straight:

They do that for convenience, and most anime characters do in fact have japanese features (a lot of japanese people have round eyes). Also things such as hair style are still pretty asian (very spiky or short and rugged). Anime characters have larger eyes because they are easy to potray emotion on and eye color is another way to give unique features to their characters. Flat noses tend to take up too much of the face leaving characters with an odd look but at the same time flat noses aren't seen in every single person of any race so that's not so important.

Americans only assume they're "trying to be white" because the dub voice actors are almost always white, it's not so common to see asian-americans with colored eyes or hair, and their names get Americanized for the sake of culture shock (such as the famous "I caught a donut" line by brock from pokemon when it was clearly a riceball).
