If Gwyneth Paltrow wants this issue to be resolved it is very simple: Get in relationship with a Black man will be one of my suggestions. We can go on discussing this topic for a long time but the fact is that many Black people will not easily forgive her but on the one hand... I agree that we need to start holding some white people a little bit more accountable for their actions at times like when Dog the Bounty Hunter used the N-word against his son's girlfriend who was black. All he showed was that he was a clear racist. He tried to get a Black minister to come on CNN and speak on his behalf and try to "get back" his name but still in my mind he will always be seen as a racist. On the other hand we need to remember that we cannot go overboard either like when this Brother thought he had heard something racist in the children series Fraggle Rock. "Fraggle Rock Controversy? Texas Viewer Alleges Racial Slur In 80?s Puppet Show Re-Run North Texas resident Keith White was watching the 80s TV series Fraggle Rock with his daughter last week when his ears perked up. In the middle of a conversation between two Fraggles — the lovable Jim Henson creations who lived underground — he thought he heard a character refer to another one as an offensive, out-of-date racial slur. “I heard him say ‘Jigaboo,’” White told CW 33. “That’s what I heard him say.” White even rewound the show several times to listen again (hopefully with is daughter out of earshot). The Hub pulled the script from the 1984 episode and the character actually said: “Well, gee, Gobo, we’re sorry.” “Gobo” is the name of the main character. Go back and listen again, and you’ll hear the clip in a totally different way. Hub decided, though, just to avoid this mistake in the future, to edit out Gobo’s name from that exchange. The Jim Henson Company, the show’s original creator, told CW 33 they, “agree with The Hub’s interpretation of the scene and their actions in this matter.” Still, White doesn’t seem entirely happy with the outcome, wondering why they’d edit the line out if it wasn’t a mistake, or an inside joke. He also, in a beautiful wrap-up of the controversy, points out that Gobo is wearing what appears to be a Jamaican rasta hat in this episode that he doesn’t normally wear." However, I still say that one way that Gwyneth Paltrow can solve this is by hooking up with a Brotha-perhaps she needed to do that a long time ago instead of using some Brothers like a Black Eraser to erase all of her mess away. It's interesting that some of these "celebrities" want to adopt Black babies but don't want to be with a Brother by the way but...:smt063 if Gwyneth does hook up with a Brother it might blow all of this whole mess away and show that she is not Anti-Black people after all which is how some people think about her right now.
exactly. MSNBC showed NAS being interviewed about it. he stated "he love gwyneth and he would slap a mofo for her. she gets a pass"
Nas has no credibility on this issue. Neither does Jay Z. No one is hating on Gwyneth, but she was still stupid to let that word come out of her mouth. Bad decision on her part and IMO she deserves to get called on it. People 'defending' her right to say it are suspect. There are so many Black people with a professional background is sociological and cultural studies who would have an illuminating opinion on this subject, hell even random Black people who are actually grown folk who could explain why it's problematic having the N-word now become a part on of White folks everyday vernacular. If you would have a problem with your professor or supervisor calling you Nig, or someone calling your kids little nigs, you should have a problem with the word in general.
Thread is about Ms. Paltrow, not me. Lol at you for calling me out for calling someone else 'suspect'. For someone who whines about personal attacks, you sure like to give them out.:smt119
How the fuck are you gonna call some rich white chick who grew up with a silver spoon in her mouth a real nigga?
ICE-T weighed in... He says a bit more in the interview video.... http://music.yahoo.com/blogs/thats-really-week/june-4-10-ice-t-gwyneth-paltrow-using-145824657.html
If Jay Z and Kanye didnt want whites saying the title of the song maybe they SHOULDNT OF FUCKIN NAMED IT NIGGAS IN PARIS. And lmao at the overly sensitive pussies getting offended by this.:smt043
Funny this is, I bet if this was Jay and Nas back in the mid 90s and she said that, they would lose their shit since they weren't all Hollywood at the time. They were still on that grimy ass shit back then. I also wonder if the Jersey Shore people or some white college kid pulled the same shit, would they get a pass because "they fuck with rap" or get death threats? Bet they wouldn't get the Gwenyth treatment by Jay and Nas.
Seems this has reared its head before...I personally don't listen to Eminem's music, so I wouldn't know in the least, but was he given a 'pass' or no? Ironically, in this exchange, Howard says 'common sense needs to utilized by all WP' and should not use it AT ALL, and 50 Cent say 'it's fine as long as it's in the right context'. *It's discussed only in the first 2.48 mins only
Gwenyth is sexy and classy she'll always get a pass. Jersey Shore people are straight trash. So happy that shit is over
Charlize Theron is white and is African. People hear "Africa" and automatically think "black people". This isn't offensive at all.
I think the point people seem to miss is not that she retweeted the name of the album, which i have no problem with but how she used the title. NIGGAS IN PARIS INDEED. She basically just called them niggers. I don't think anyone would be uptight about being offended by that.
