I heard one judge had his rounds 11-1 in Pac's favor. And yet, he lost. Another guy was saying...'welcome to the world of MMA, where the scoring is also rigged (ridiculous)'. Don't know how true that is, though.
dunno about the other branches, but the UFC seems pretty legit. Granted, most fights they show don't even make it out the 1st round, because someone got KOd or submitted. Fights I have seen go to decision, have been pretty fair. I know they judge based on octagon control, pushing the pace of the fight, strikes landed (as well as the severity of them), submission attempts, takedowns, etc. I have yet to see something like that Pacman fight in the UFC tho, lol. MMA fans are fucking notorious and vocal. When they came to Philly, the fans had multiple fights inside the arena during the pay-per view fights. Dana White isn't stupid enough to let judges give brain dead decisions.
There are a few complaints about judging and judges in MMA, Cecil, but I have never seen a decision that terrible and shady....yet.
if a decision was made like that, I think I woulda remembered Joe Rogan interviewing a fighter like Koshek, who woulda had some very livid commentary lmao:smt099
Pacquiao was robbed in that fight. He won at least 10 or 11 rounds of that fight. Pacquiao threw more punches and landed more power punches. I'm not a Pacquiao fan though, I still think he would lose to Mayweather. But he won that fight on Saturday.
I was listening to NPR today on All Things Considered and they were talking about this fight. The link HERE shows the interview between Audi Cornish and Kevin Iole. Below is the transcript if you don't want to bother clicking the link.
I left at the end of 11th round thinking that unless Bradley knocked Pacquaio out, he wasn't going to win the fight. I was surprised to see the decision on ESPN later. I thought Pac should've won unanimously. That said, I also thought Pac lost to Marquez in their last fight but the judges saw otherwise.
True but at least the last fight was close. It's not uncommon for judges to favor the champ in a close fight. Thats why I didnt have so much of a problem with the pac/marquez outcome. Having said that this fight wasnt even close. Bradley got his ass whooped. A straight boxing clinic.
http://sports.yahoo.com/news/boxing--wbo-to-review-pacquiao-bradley-decision.html peep the scoop.. while decisions usually go one way or another....along with the fact that other boxers may have had similar calls.....I think if the fight was THAT one sided, then yeah that should be reviewed and possibly reversed. Calls like that are ruining boxing for lots of people you start hurting organizations in their pockets, they'll listen you got people like bmanz spending 64.99 on something that ends with a bullshit call c'mon
Evidently. So did many based on all the hoopla. And wait if there's ever a Pac/May fight. I bet even you will tune in.
