I just saw that; she was just 48. So sad. :(

OMG, just the other day she either tired to slit her wrists or something! Too tragic!

believable but unbelievable...lippy will be 48 this summer and i have alot more living to do...this is indeed a very sad ending...i remember when she was on the cover of seventeen magazine...pop sensation...whitney was a model before she became a famous pop icon...the first black woman to grace the cover :smt024

Shame, all that talent gone to waste, hopefully Bobby Brown can pull his act together for the sake of their kid.

I am too saddened at the great Black performers and icons we keep losing!
No-one can step into their shoes. Ever.

Please don't minimize their accomplishments by pointing out that they were black. Its irrelevant they were cultural icons because they did ground breaking work and were good at what they did.

Very sad. She was beautiful and talented. But she never seemed to escape her demons. :(

    Indeed!

But on Whitney Houston, she was one of my all time favorites and I always rooted for her to be able to come back. Alas it was not to be

I don't like how he came at you but he's right. Can we all remember her in a good light. The negative pics should be avoided

How is that "minimizing" their accomplishments? I am acknowledging their heritage, wtf?!
Many of the artists I'm referring to were groundbreaking in an era where Black artists and iconic status were MINIMIZED.

Of course they were good at what they did. Being Black doesn't minimize that AT ALL, despite you implying it.

I don't believe he was right for coming off like that. Totally inappropriate response to a post.

Had WH not died, those photos may have been TMZ fodder or the work of her handlers trying to keep her career alive. She had been getting a lot of negative press about her comeback attempt...

In other words, I don't think it's fair to shoot the messenger no matter how bad the news.
