Movin' on up: Great NEWS!!!

I have been gainfully employed for the past two days.

My second interview turned out to be a job offer and I started working 5 minutes later. Called the temp agency to tell them I would not be coming in after all!!:smt025

It's going to be HARD WORK. They chose me over another applicant who had more experience in the legal field (as in I had NONE), and are prepared to teach me to be their legal assistant. In their words, they were "impressed" with me - no idea why exactly but I'm not going to ask!! I've had 2 days of training and am now on my own (SHIIIITTTT), but they are happy to have me it seems.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be sitting in a room full of a dozen attorneys sharing war-stories. One cool attorney struck up a conversation with me about art, and my boss is a former theatre major.

Going to have to bring my game face every single day, but I am ready for a challenge. Next: save my money back up to get a real apartment!
Reinstate my YMCA membership...
Get crackin' on my art for an amazing exhibition slated for sometime in the next year or so...
Also!!! Little to NO commute. I'm gonna start walking to work (it's about a mile or so away)to get my sexy body back... and saving my gas money for a trip to see my aunt in England and drive to her summer home in Greece :smt002. Oh yes!!

Excuse me now - I have to go wash my hair to meet up with a friend who has just come in from Chicago.

So glad I can finally breathe again...

Thank you orejon for your kind words but I'm sure it is I who will be brain-picking YOU! I had to print out a glossary of commonly used legal terms today because there are words I have just never heard of before...

By the way, an artist as legal assistant isn't as crazy as it probably feels. There's an art to many judges' legal opinions as well. LOL

Thank you everyone!! So far it's going very well! The day flies by and I am left to my own resources to execute whatever task comes my way - it definitely keeps me on my toes and my bosses are very understanding and knowledgeable (and willing to teach, when I need it)...

I am so grateful for my job. Really like my bosses and everyone in the building... Had lunch with the lady who helped me to get the job today (she works in a law office across the street). I became friends with her because I reached out in desperation, in spiritual crisis, to a local church (that happens to be very artist-friendly)...

I hope to be able to help someone like she did me (in leading someone to a fruitful job) someday...

Yesterday I thanked the mailman (James) for being an angel, God's messenger, in telling my friend that the other law firm would be looking for someone... He seemed very happy for me and he told my friend what I said (she said later lol) - I hope he never forgets he was an instrument in God's plan in that moment and could be again...

I hope other people find good jobs through such a means, and will try to make that happen myself...
