http://www.theroot.com/buzz/white-people-face-worst-racism an article that summarizes a study from The authors of "Whites See Racism as a Zero-Sum Game That They Are Now Losing". The study appears in the May 2011 issue of the journal Perspectives on Psychological Science.
I don't even have to read the article to know it's true. Always been that way even before the black president.
White people face the worst kind of racism? That's utter bullshit. White people still hold the majority influence and have the most successful businesses and that won't dissipate anytime soon. They are only subjecting themselves to delusional paranoia and fear.
+1. I didn't even bother reading the article. -Does racism exist in America? HELL TO THE YES! -Does reverse racism exist? yes -Does some white experience some racism from browns, blk and yellow? yes but not nearly as much as blks. Anyone who thinks minorities (blks) lives have dramatically improved coz we have a blk president is sadly mistaken.
Absolutely true. Plus, the magnitude of racism they face nowhere near as bad as a black person having to face it. I think the word "equality" is a scary word for these people. Merit never really came to play, even in the past. It was always a bias as to who were admitted into schools, what job positions, etc...and it was based on networking and with whites holding onto big positions, they were more likely to give it to their (white) friends and if a black person were to try and get in it, it would be a cold day in hell before the CEO position of a business can give the keys to that someone.
Question. Is it okay for white people to experience racism towards them because they'll never experience it more than other races?
This is an oxymoron. And people who say it don't even understand its meaning. In order for their to be reverse racism, that has to be racism as its base. Saying "reverse racism" suggest that somehow the majority population has inducted equality and are paying for that induction. More to point any mention of "race" in any regard is often called racism. Racism is a system. Racism is an institution. government economy military food fashion entertainment. science. health care employment college acceptance income ratios every aspect of American life and culture is controlled but the 200 million people out of 300 million that make up the United States. A non-white STILL doesn't make the same pay for the same job as his/her white counter part. ...and anyone who suggest that "whits have it worse" is a fucking blathering uneducated idiot. Whites have FEAR, this it was drives this debate. From the creation of this country whites have non little more than themselves. the introduction of non-whites in the mainstream American culture was not for some sense of quality and justice, but rather for monetary incentives. and it happened slowly, then one day whites woke up and started to many more of US/THEM and is scares many of them. No an individual non-white can discriminate against a white based on their race. Of course, but to suggest that whites suffer from RACISM, is a fucking joke. Whitse victims of racism....get the fuck out of here. ha ha ha that shit is funny.
Do I really have to? Take a random black person and a random white person. Have them do whatever you want. Apply for any job Walk into any store Walk into any resturant Go to any park Become a little league coach Anything you can think and you tell me who faces the most racism on their journey.
We do. But, as clearly stated above, it's not nearly as bad as other cultures. The term 'reverse racism' is one of the most idiotic terms I've ever heard. Racism is just racism, plain and simple.
Lol, of course white people experience racism, every race experiences racism. The question is: is it comparable? And obviously the answer is no. Not trying to make any race out to be victims or whatever, but white people haven't been subject to years and years of institutionalised racism. White people as a whole have never been denied rights for the sole reason of them being white. White people generally aren't persecuted for being white. I could go on, but I think this is all stuff everybody knows. Anyone who says white people experience 'the worst racism' isn't worth listening to, they'd have to be in serious denial to genuinely believe that, imho.
White people face personal racism. Black people face personal and institutional racism. There is no comparison. But one don't make the other right either.
great post.......it's the ignorance of the powerful and dominant to see equality as a betrayal of their priviledge.
This is a great statement of the racial status quo. I really do not understand what all the fuss is about. All the anxiety about black and brown people taking over the country is unfounded. Yes, we are slowly taking our rightful place in this country but we still seriously lack access to capital, education, good paying jobs and political parties who take us seriously other than at election time.
