Amazing what it would be like if more young black women looked up to her as a role model, instead of Nicki Minaj and Rihanna.

The first lady is a lady through and through, reminds me of how black American women as a whole used to be in the past before something happened culturally that left us with what we see too often today.

 

What role model? She's notable for being married to someone. But I do agree these young girls need to stop looking up to popstars.

Way to go to undermine her role as First Lady. She's been doing a hell of a lot as a First Lady. She would just be the person in the back, but really...she's been active and have her own agenda set...which is tackling health issues in this country. She's doing her part under her own accord. Playing wifey, she is not.

It's really mind boggling. And to be frank, compared to a lot of previous First Ladies, she's VERY active in this whole debacle. If anything, she's an incredibly hard working person even in this position. What did the previous first ladies do while their husbands were Commander-in-Chief? Hmmm, aside from Hillary, I don't know many others who stood out.

That old saying rears its ugly head: "For you to succeed, you have to work twice as hard as the next person." In the case of ethnic relations, black people cannot squander and must always be at the top.

 

I'm not saying saying she doesn't do good shit but she's doing it off someone elses merrit. It's like women who do a ton of charity work with money their husband earns. Admire Oprah, admire The Williams sister, admire Condaleeza Rice but admiring glorified housewives is overrated. Just my two cents.

 

Man she is not a stay at home wife....she was a lawyer at a law firm before he became prez. she ended up quitting when he became prez (if Im not mistaken) because that is what is expected from the country. they want a stay at home mom in the white house. condi and oprah is a whole different story. they arent married to the prez.

Andrae, if this isn't the dumbest post on the planet, I don't know what is. First of all, it's THEIR money...as in joint income based off of taxpayers. So yes, they are BOTH earning it as a couple. Secondly, her position is well within the confines of importance. She's not a glorified housewife. If she was, she wouldn't be working and just let her hubby do everything. But the fact is that she also works and do her part as someone who wants to make a difference. She has the authority now and influence.

Come on, Andrae, you're much smarter than that. Don't insult Michelle Obama and call her that. She's a hard working woman with a lot of credentials on her back. If she wanted to, she could get a position in politics as well.

Whoever is with Andrae will be a lucky woman, that's a fact. But he has to remember that the game of chess requires two skilled players. When comparing Chess to Life...in this case, relationships or marriage...he'll be two pieces short of a rook before he can checkmate his spouse.

He's a smart man. But there are times when he can say something royally dumb.
